Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

I appreciate the advice! it's hard to gauge what a statue is really worth...it retailed for $300 right? now it's all about supply and demand.

I believe it retailed for $400. Yes, whenever a piece sells out we are all subject to the rule of supply and demand. Just keep looking for a deal you can live with. There are 1250 REGS. One will pop up at a price that is reasonable if you have patience.

I was lucky enough to get an EX off of the wait list.

When it was available for preorder i just started collecting and thought that $365 was way to much to pay for a statue. I also had the Bowen museum pose Spider-man so i figured i had his representation covered in my collection...now i'm ready to pay big $$ for the comiquette!

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

I believe it was $365 when it came out.

I just checked. You are very close. It was $349.99 for the REG and $359.99 for the EX. With shipping thrown in it came out to around $400 for the EX when I preordered the piece.

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

I haven't nor will I give up trying to get this at a price I can deal with. I expect to pay over but not extremely so. I can't just go without my favorite character. It will happen.

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

I thing this is one of the best pieces Sideshow has produced. I just sold my Ex to a fellow Sideshow Freak that was in about as perfect condition as it gets. It was painful to get rid of it, but I'm focused on the DC line.

Yes, it was about as perfect as it could get. Loved the pics you sent holding him for the pics wearing gloves. And, you gave me a fair price on him. You are a great seller and thanks again.

I will be posting pics in my show thread soon.

Best chance this will happen is if SSC releases another nice 1/4 scale Spidey in the near future. Not sure it's gonna happen, though.

There are so many characters to be made before they revisit Spidey. We still haven't even seen a fully sculpted 1/4 scale Hulk, Cap, and Thor yet. And those are just the heavy hitters. There are still a bunch in the pipeline we are already waiting for. I can't wait to see WW Hulk, Doom, Apocalypse, and the new Red Skull PF. There's some good stuff on the horizon. I have to agree that it'll be awhile before SSC makes another Spidey.

There are 2 Hulk PFs, 3 if you consider the grey one another one, and 1 Hulk Comiquette. That's 4 hulks. 1 Spiderman PF and one Spiderman Comiquette. We should see another Spiderman before we see another Hulk. ( I know there is also the back in black spider man and the iron Spider Man, but those look totally different than the standard red and blue Spiderman.) SpiderMan is the most popular Marvel character.

2 Thor PFs and 2 Cap PFs but no Thor or Cap comiquettes. You have a point there. Isn't that a WW Hulk with Silver Savage? We know the overpriced 1:2 Doom is coming, but yes, where is the fully sculpted Doom or a new PF in the classic style? Still no Apocalypse, but I think many would buy another of any of the other characters before they would buy an Apocalypse, not that they shouldn't make him.

We've seen production sketches of the new Emma Frost PF, confirmed a new Punisher PF is already sculpted, and saw a production peak of the new Red Skull PF. That's 3 redos in the same format. Since they favor PFs over Coms now, seems like they'll do a new 1/4 Spidey as premium format whenever they feel like doing it regardless of who they haven't made yet.

As for fully sculpted PFs, so far they've only done it for characters with body suits like Green Lantern and Spider-Woman. Those with pants, capes, sashes, or non body suits have still been cloth. I doubt you'll get a fully sculpted Classic Cap from SS. There's always the HCG Marvel vs Capcom line. :wink1:

They will make a fully sculpted 1/4 scale Cap, Thor, Hulk, and many more. Why? Because if it makes dollars, it makes sense. There is not a chance in hell that SSC will leave those kind of dollars on the table. Besides, last I checked, Cap wears a body suit.

For the record, I never said they will not revisit Spidey, I just don't think it will be soon.

Apocalypse is already done. It's a Olivetti/Gore group collaboration. You underestimate the power of Apocalypse. This will be a stunning piece in very high demand.

I'm sorry but I count all the Spidey statues you stated and more. For the record we have: Spidey PF, Spidey EX PF, Retro Spidey PF, Negative Zone Spidey PF, Spidey Com, B in B Spidey Com, Iron Spidey Com, and a host of movie statues and at least one dio that comes to mind. That's a lot of Spidey's and I may have even missed some. I'd say Spidey is well represented.

Those other pieces I mentioned will more than likely show up before we see another classic Spidey. I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade here. I'm sure another Classic Spidey will be made sooner or later. If I had to bet, it would be on later.

Yes, I realize you said that. :)

But last I checked, today actually in AvX #11, Cap wears a chain mail top tucked into his pants with a belt buckle. Separate top and bottom, not a body suit. When I say body suit I mean a onesie like Spider-Woman, or at least a costume with no clear seams, like Spider-Man's spandex shirt and pants. Once on, you can't tell Spidey's not wearing a onesie.

Characters in layered, separate pieced clothing like Cap have yet to be made as fully sculpted under the new PF rules. SS has still been using cloth for non body suit costumes including pants, capes, jackets, etc. if they can. Even with my doubt, purely based on what they've done so far, I'm not saying you're wrong. We just don't know until they do it. And if it looks good I'll buy it anyway, cloth or not.

Even the original Cap PF had a fully sculpted chain mail top on him. Hell, the whole statue is fully sculpted except for his tights and the area around his abs. A 1/4 fully sculpted classic Cap will get made. I have no doubt. When is the only question. I can't wait. The wait for the Spidey and Hulk Com seemed like forever because I passed on all the original marvel PFs. SSC will get around to making a lot of the pieces we want. We just have to be patient and wait for them to be released. I only hope the wait is worth it and we get some phenomenal sculpts. I know you want another Spidey statue but it will be hard to top the Spidey Com. I face the same problem with Cap. Damn, I wish those tights didn't bother me that much. I love everything else about the statue.

Yeah, I am more than happy with the way my Movie Cap turned out. The details on it are outstanding.

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

i love the old Bowen mettalic cap pose and sculpt, it would be the ideal 1/4 cap for me , i like the body frame on that cap more than the pf, Cap is supposed to somewhat of a gymnast and athletic guy, the pf body is more of a wrestler type of body,
i hope they make a 1/4 cap comiq just like they did for spiderman
