Re: Sideshow Spider-Man Comiquette

I would LOVE to see your collection Ski. I have to wonder how many of your pieces are one of a kind customs. Ones you have done JUST for yourself...:wink1:

In all seriousness I have never sold an item exception of a Dr. Doom PF Ex, which I gain back again a few years later.

One piece I still desire is the Wolverine and Sabres Dio Ex.

Awesome Dude. I made one purchase I wasn't 100% happy with because of the hype, but I won't be doing that again. My next piece will either be a Skaar Reg or the Batman Reg I have on PO. I would love to get me an Axe wielding Skaar, but I can't really afford to pay twice the value of the Reg right now? From here on though I will be getting in on the ground floor so to speak.

As for your collection if you every fancy letting us have a peak ... I for one think it would be AWESOME!!:lecture

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

Dude, some day, when I have EARNED your respect, you and I are going to be Buds...:lol. Absolutely awesome statues. Do you mind if I ask if you have ever done any customs on the Spiderman Com, and if so do out have pics??? Thanks for the pics Ski.:hi5:

That's actually a very fair deal. I wouldn't be surprised if your inbox starts to blow up.

This is becoming almost a perfect storm situation for collectors who are trying to acquire this piece. Such a small overall total ES for Marvels most popular character. We won't be seeing that again anytime soon. Not the way SSC is doing business of late. Huge ES and open ES are becoming common nowadays. It's a KILLER sculpt as well. All of these factors are going to keep driving the price of this piece even higher in the years to come.

Do you think that it'll ever get to where the EX Doom PF is today?

With how popular the character is and how low the total ES is, I wouldn't be surprised. 2 things go against that happening though. One, there already is a cheaper alternative out there. The original PF is fairly reasonably priced. As the Com continues to rise, the PF may become a suitable alternative to the Com. Second, they will make another 1/4 scale Spidey someday. They'll probably get around to it before they do another 1/4 scale Doom. Depending on how it looks, that can also become an alternative.

The Doom PF is safe for awhile. However, if the LSF was released as a PF instead, I know I would have jumped on it in a heartbeat. I think it looks much better than the PF. Who knows when SSC will release another 1/4 scale Doom. I just hope when they do, that it'll look as good or top the LSF. That's THE Doom statue to own as far as I'm concerned.

The Doom PF will soon be overtaken by the R2D2/C3PO PF Exclusive...this is for sale already on ebay for over $2900!!! and the darn statue hasnt even been released yet :slap

Price wise, yes. However, you are comparing apples to oranges. Not everyone who is a Marvel fan is also a Star Wars fan. To a collector who is a Marvel fan only, the droid prices won't matter. Acquiring a kick *** 1/4 scale Doom will be at the top of the list of any hard core Marvel fan. Doom is easily a top 5 villain in the Marvel U. In my book, he's top 3. Doom, Magneto, and Thanos are my choice for top Marvel baddies. Apocalypse and Red Skull would round out my top 5.

I'll be honest. The Droids could sell for $5000. It wouldn't matter to me because I don't own a single Star Wars collectible. My money will be tied up trying to acquire 1/4 scale pieces of the characters I listed above.

I was comparing the 2 in terms of value on the second hand market. Obviously everyone will have their favourites, etc...but the Doom PF EX is one of those pieces that sell for mega bucks as does the Predator 1:1 bust or Predator Maquette...i still think the droids exclusive will be in a league of their own value wise :)
