Here is a pic of mine. I never actually did a photoshoot with it yet. I do admit that I just put it up on Ebay for a high price tag.... I need to fund equally high priced X men PF's that I want to buy I don't really care if it sells or not, so I put it up there just in case. I figure this is what most people do when there are high prices out there.

What X-Men characters are you after?

I am looking for wolverine PF and Rogue. I am hoping to fund them with selling this.
The Wolverines they have for BIN are so much. They sell for a lot less in auction, as well as Spideys. But I think the 2 Xmen PF's value equal to the Spideys. Spidey is way more sought after I think.

You know a new Wolverine is more than likely being worked on right now. I'd save the statue and wait for the new Wolverine.

Yeah, I want to sell before I buy more. I am running out of space, and want to keep my collection under control. I am willing to wait for a good deal. I still haven't seen any pics of a new Wolvie yet, and I want a yellow suit. If they show something at SDCC and it's awesome, maybe I'll change my mind.... I don't own any Bowens, but I might think about going an all Bowen Xmen team or something. Choices choices...

That's what I did. All of my complete Marvel line ups are by Bowen. I only buy my most favorite characters from SSC. I'm not all that thrilled with many of SSC's Marvel offerings so I know I have no chance of completing lines with SSC. I'm a HUGE X-MEN fan but don't care for many of the X-MEN PFs. I'm more of a John Byrne era X-MEN fan and Bowen allows me to complete that line up because he released a full line of characters from that era. SSC's Marvel line is very hit or miss with me.

The major tradeoffs with Bowen, as I see them, really are in the scale, and the poses. You get small scale (1/6th or so), and pretty generic poses. But on the other hand, you get a huge variety of figures. I also wish SSC would give us more 1/4 scale Cockrum/Byrne-era X-Men as opposed to those horrible Jim Lee designs and other '90s cra. . .er, stuff. But no.

I LOVE my BD pieces. Paint apps on BD pieces are usually top notch. I don't mix my BD pieces with any SSC pieces. If you do, they would look small compared to SSC PFs or COMs. The way I have my display set up is BD/Koto pieces on one side of the room and SSC on the other. I have over 50 BD statues displayed together and I have to say that when there are that many of them, they look awesome together.

I would have to say that you should be all in to even bother with a BD collection. If you plan on mainly buying SSC pieces and having only a few BD pieces to complete one line then you'd be better off not bothering with BD merch. BD pieces can never take the place of SSC pieces in your collection. They truly are apples and oranges. However, you can't complete different eras (Byrne X-MEN) and certain teams (Fantastic Four) with SSC. BD allows you to have a much more diverse Marvel line up. That's why I collect and enjoy BD pieces.

I think Wolverine and Storm are the only Cockrum looks that made the cut so far in 1/4 scale. Colossus is close. But they did Lee Cyclops and Jean, so I'm doubtful that the team is a focus of theirs, or something you could reasonably expect to complete in the foreseeable future.

I actually considering getting a classic Spidey from Bowen, as SSC seems uninterested in doing him with the smaller eyes. One exception being that bronze statue. So, if you're a fan of a character in a specific look, that's another reason to possibly buy from them.

The new XM Wolverine looks really impressive. That's the one I'm getting

Thank god! I thought I was the only one! Everyone is raving about the XM stuff. I hate the head sculpts though. Cap and Wolvie look nothing like what they are supposed to. Captain America looks Asian and Wolvie looks off... I like the attempt at action, but it feels a bit stiff of a pose for me.
