Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Links to buy Reg + Exc waitlist in 1st post.

I order normal version cheaper in my country.

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Links to buy Reg + Exc waitlist in 1st post.

The only thing that doesn't make me 100% happy about the Spidey Comiquette is that they put a wall-plague/decoration piece, underneath his left hand, but he is spreading his fingers like on a flat surface/wall. Normally you would guess if there is a form of foothold available YOU USE IT.

I think they should have used only a flat upperpart of wall; both decorative stones or plain redbricks would have worked.

But +1 that they did a very nice inside of the wall..

I wanted to pre order this piece, but the one space I have to display isn't tall enough by one inch. ONE INCH!!!

I might have to cut a hole in the ceiling. :gah: ;)

Maybe you should look at the bottom instead and shorten or remove the small legs from underneath your display case/cabinet.. :1-1:

I must admit that I never had spider powers but maybe we should look at it from Spider-mans perspective who have been clinging to flat surfaces quite securely for many years. Holding on to something probably doesn't even register in his brain anymore unless he's using it to swing or something.

Yeah I felt that way too, climbing is probably second nature like walking is for us and he doesn't need to look for better holds due to his powers. Non flat surfaces may even diminish his hold who know? :dunno ...sec let me get Parker on the line. Damn msg machine nm.

That's my whole point.. :gah: For this amazing statue "they" should have used a flat surface only (beneath his left hand), but they put a wall-decoration which is sticking out the wall and that doesn't correspond with his spead fingers. It look weird imo.

But they probably did it, bcs they needed more arm-lenght and didn't want to make the arm to stretchy (space filling imo).

Yeah, I caught on to what you where saying as I was writing my response but if you think about it, it's almost as if the artist is saying "Look, even though there's something to hold on to right there, Spider-man simply ignores it." I think it works well either way but I get your point about the flat wall. I guess that's the point of art. It say's something different to each of us.

Man I'm deep.:rotfl

I'm sorry, but this is extreme nit-picking.

Another reason that it is designed this way is that the wall decoration and Spidey's hand could be physically attached. The wall decoration is probably what "plugs in" to the base along with a foot or something.

Yeah, thought about it, but the legs on the cabinet in question wont come off....:gah:

Careful....one of these geeks is gonna whip up something with their photoshop and measuring tape to prove you wrong. They might use their pseudo physic powers and calculate the surface area of Spidey fingers and their gripping force vs. Spidey height, weight, and possible wind/surface friction. :slap

Well, I had Spider-powers for a few weeks in the 90s...unfortunately, once they started me on the anti-psychotic meds I lost all my powers. Luckily, on a completely unrelated note, all of my arch enemies mysteriously disappeared at the same time!

Seriously though, you are completely right. It's like a deer running full throttle through the woods. Or a fish navigating a coral reef. To a regular old human it looks complicated and impossible...to a deer or a fish its just second nature. I don't know about you guys...but Ive never seen a spider stop and look for a foot hold...:dunno
