Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Link for waitlist in 1st post.

Yeah, agree with you guys, love the piece but it didn't go together with Venom and Carnage as well as I thought it would. I'll probably still display them together tho'.
Yeah my initial thought was they would be linked together at the base. I'm still getting Spidey though :yess:

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Link for waitlist in 1st post.

While I really like the new comiquette it really doesn't match up all that well with Venom and Carnage. I'll be keeping my order but Carnage and Venom will be displayed as a pair and not a trilogy as they should have been.

Hm. The way I plan on displaying these are similar to:

except for the parts where I placed arrows. My ps skills aren't great but, I see venom and carnage turned inwards toward spiderman (marked by the yellow arrows) and spiderman himself displayed behind them slightly. Whether or not this is accurate with the bases/buildings, I could really care less. I just don't want their backs facing me, and I also don't want all three of them to be directly facing me, so I think something in between should work out well. Its really hard to say what will look best until we have these in our hands though :impatient:

Judging from the pics Spidey seems to be on the opposing building from them, that's why they are facing him and the bases are different colors from his. They are on the Bugle Building and he's on the opposite one. That's probably why they don't go so well when next to each other. Unfortunately that seems to limit the display options in terms of going together for those that want a straight line thin shelf display.

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Link for waitlist in 1st post.

I'm planning on keeping the Carnage becuase he's so badass, and I've been waiting a long time for a good sculpt of him. ..but honestly, I don't think he goes too well with the other two.

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Link for waitlist in 1st post.

Well, looks like we'll have to wait until next January to display these pieces anyway. So there's lots of time to convince ourselves that these three pieces are ideal together... lol

However, as much as these pieces have been solicited as a "set", I'm not feeling that it's that essential for them to displayed as some sort of dio. As long as they look good displayed together on a shelf, I'm happy. I don't need to set up some sort of battle scene.

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Up NOW, Link to buy in 1st post.

Considering USPS takes about a year to reimburse for damages, if at all, I can completely understand why Sideshow (or anyone) would want to go with FedEx or UPS. Also, it can take longer for an item to ship to Canada via USPS, and USPS often costs more than FedEx. Also, UPS and FedEx do pick ups for shipments of a hundred plus items.

Ultimately, what some Canadian consumers want is for sellers to lie on declaration forms so that they don't have to pay the proper fees. Understandable. Those fees at up. However, the problem with that is if the item ships damaged, the seller is screwed because it wasn't insured/declared at the right value. Also, what if the seller is caught lying or commiting a fraud on these forms?

In essence, taking this route is akin to asking sellers to screw themselves just so some Canadians can save a few bucks. I'd bet that if the shoe were on the other foot, most of these same buyers wouldn't be so quick to do the same.

Well if you lived outside the U.S you might change your tune. When I got my darth maul PF off ebay there were no duty charges on it and the seller did not lie on any declaration. I just think that SS should give me the option or open a canadian warhouse.

Until the recent massive price drop on Canadian shipping, Fedex was more expensive about 90% of the time with Canadian shipments, prior to customs fees.

Canada Post and USPS have some sort of agreement where even items declared at full value don't always get tagged for fees, plus the fees are lower than Fedex/UPS, since those two tag on a customs clearance fee on top of the customs fee.

However, I do think whatever the recent change has been in terms of Sideshow's Canadian shipping (via Fedex), it's a massive improvement. Items arrive super quick, customs fees aren't excessive, and the overall shipping price is so low. My Zangief apparently cost less to ship up here than it would have to my wife's place in New York.
