Super Freak
For all of us who were extremely disappointed with this piece....
If you’ve never asked for an NRD back, I believe they have a policy where you’re allowed one back. But usually if a piece is not up to standard, you can still ge the NRD back. Just have to ask. And no, you typically don’t have to pay for shipping if you’re unhappy with the piece and plead your case of how different it is from what was originally solicited. I have yet to have to pay for any shipping when receiving a less than stellar piece. Make sure you ask for these things though. They sometimes won’t outright just give it to youYeah, everything considered I have decided to return this to Sideshow. It just isnt up to expectations-those seams are pretty unforgivable. Waiting on SSC response, I have never returned anything, usually pretty easily pleased but this one is very disappointing. I guess I will be eating the shipping and NRD?
Thanks for the advice, really appreciate it as I am generally pretty easy to please and have never returned anything to sideshow. A gentleman from customer services contacted me today to inform me that initial shipping and shipping back to SSC is at my cost. No mention of the NRD but I would bet I'm on the hook for that also. Def. a little disappointed in them, I have spent a reasonable amount with them over the years (in the region of $2500 this year) and this doesn't seem particularly customer friendly. If you’ve never asked for an NRD back, I believe they have a policy where you’re allowed one back. Ahh that's really unfortunate. I'm sorry to hear that. Sometimes it really depends on who you get I guess. I did have one CS rep try to tell me a Hot Toys figure I had wasn't defective b/c that's what their in-house sample looked like even though I know it couldn't possibly be true as I was buying a second one with a first one that was actually pristine and nothing like my other one. And then last year another guy wouldn't give me a replacement on my broken 1/6 comic superman saying it was a user issue and not theirs. So you just never know. I'm sorry if I gave you false hope. Maybe try again with someone else and maybe over the phone instead? I actually ordered something during one of their Cyber monday sales and yet when I looked back at my order, it didn't reflect the sale price so I called instead of emailed and got a really polite guy who was willing to give me my NRD back if I wanted it.Thanks for the advice, really appreciate it as I am generally pretty easy to please and have never returned anything to sideshow. Despite all it's obvious flaws in the likes of the seam line and maybe to some the wrinkle S logo... I think Oliver here presents the statue in it's best light and all... and I do agree with his opinion on this statue. You guys might want to check this one out, perhaps the best reviewed for this statue on the net.
the material was different between the head and the body... this is what they did in Blitzway... Enterbay early Bruce Lee statues did the same way. What was a reason behind that jaw seam? I need answers! Makes no sense.
Excellent, I really want this pieceThe ES is pretty high on Sideshow statues? I feel like in a year or two they will be trying to give this away with mass discounts.
Excellent, I really want this piece
have the $
but also have the patience
I’ve got a DX13 I’m thinking about selling, to fund this one . Reeve is also my fav Superman. I have the hot toys version, with an upgraded custom suit, and the neca 1/4.JND mentioned they wanted to do a Reeve Superman (if given the permission) in their latest Cavil statue video.
If you’re patient, that would probably be the best best for accuracy.
Despite the inaccuracies with the SSC statue, it’s a decent “value” pick considering the price.
I bought the SSC PF because Superman 78 is my favorite superhero movie and there are not many alternatives for Reeve statues at that scale - Arnie Kim has some nice custom pieces but I heard they cost an arm and a leg.
