Mythos is 1/5 mate not PF.

Ah, that's true. He's so big I sometimes forget. :slap

Still, I think the HS for this one will look really good in the end, and the realism will come through nicely!

Funds are what's making me debate this one at the moment. On the plus side, a March 2014 release almost definitely means June/July...so with a year to put money aside, that makes it a bit easier. Though I do have 4 other statues on PO at the moment, and two Hot Toys, so technically that money should go to those first.

I'm also curious as to what will be announced at SDCC next month. Do they usually reveal completely new line-ups or continuations (say new mythos statues coming next year?) at the Con? This is my first year of collecting, so I'm not sure how that works. Since I'll likely only be able to get two, maybe three things next year, I want to choose wisely!

The movie did rock though, and this would likely look awesome near the Batman PF arriving later this year!

They really don't do announcements at the con but definitely on their website. They usually do new product and new statues in existing lines for at least the entire week of Comic Con, though I know a couple times they've done it for all the weeks leading up to and through the Con as well.

Not as many games and online interactivity in recent years though :(

Ah, so we may get a look at the upcoming DC Catwoman or new Mythos? Interesting! Those would likely be of main interest to me...though I keep saying that until I see something new that sucks me in :gah::rotfl

:exactly:

I really need to start holding myself back to only a couple of pieces a year. It's so hard (especially when I've only just begun collecting and everything seems so amazing!) but things can get out of hand quite quickly! I love the 1/4 statues, and while part of me earlier was debating the Hot Toys Man of Steel (which would lead into Jor-El and likely Zod), another part of me is drawn to the sheer awesomeness that is this PF.

Granted, for the price of this piece I could get both Superman and Jor-El as Hot Toys, so there's always that...but in the end, I think this PF really captures the essence of the Superman found in Man of Steel. It almost gives off an aura of "hope" just looking at it in pictures.

I am totally guessing, but from SDCC I am hoping to see
MOS PF
Superman PF
Batman PF
Harley PF
Flash and or WonderWoman PFs
Jean Grey PF
WWHulk PF
And the one that has my interest the most right not the 1/5 J Scott Campbell Spiderman Com line (we have seen the comp, eyed Gwen Stacy and MJ Protos, and the Spidey was teased in the Wax Works video).

am warming upto this, will make my decision after seeing the movie and when it comes in stock, painted eyes on almost all of SS real human characters bothers me..
thank god there is no ex
another thing that bother me is with sequels, Jla planned , there are bound to be a lot more, so wondering if i need to start a new line

I get a 3 - 4 figs a year usually mate, at least at the moment. I don't complete lines like some of the guys here, my collection is movie figs witha sprinkling of DC now that SS has the license coz I'm DC 4 lyfe. PF is the way to go I agree, all your stuff in the same scale is pleasing to the eye. I had a collection that was all over the place up until getting my first PF in 2006.

Yeah I gonna preorder this one! Getting into statues. I have a collection of Hot Toys but I like large scale pieces,PF's,Maguettes. Love the Hulk Maquette!

Yeah the 1/4 scale statues give more presence than little 12 inch action figures, you feel like you are walking into an art museum. Unlike most people here I think the pose is good enough for this PF but I am not sure if the head sculpt is as good as Hot Toys one. Nevertheless, I like how the body is more slim and thus, more accurate compared to the Hot Toys one. So overall I think this PF is the better one out of the two but I still like Hot Toys head sculpt from what I have seen so far.

IDK I will probably buy both. :lol

I take it you didn't bother ordering this PF? Im kind of on the fence about it myself
i don't mind the statue...in fact i think it looks pretty good
but it's not the Superman i grew up with so i'll stick to the comic version

if you're going to do a movie statue then get it right...the cuffs in the movie are not silver...they're blue

just saying :)

Yeah it is not the Superman, i grew up with either but I still think it is a cool looking and would make a nice display piece. As for the cuffs, that is an easy fix for them to change. :yess:

Unlike the drastic changes Hot Toys has to make to their figure. :horror

I think you'll have plenty of time to decide, BuffyGirl. :)

Mostly what's stopping me from ordering with ssc is that deposit. It's not that we will back out, it's that we need every single cent in our account for our home loan. $35 doesn't look like much, but trust me, every bit counts.

I totally agree with you " It is what it is"

Yeah, I don't blame you there! The PFs definitely have more presence than my Dark Knight Rises Batman (as awesome as he is!) so I'll likely go this route due to everything the PF seems to capture about the themes in Man of Steel.

I'm with you in that I don't worry about completing lines, as I kinda choose whatever speaks to me instead. I'll still have a collection that's a BIT all over the place (Tony Stark and Samurai Predator Hot Toys coming, as well as Croc Vs. Batman 2nd Edition) but the statues are what really tend to blow me out of the water and force my hand on an order. When they arrive, it's so easy to just constantly look at them in awe...that's when you know you've done right :)

Saw the film today and I really liked it, although I did have a couple of issues with it but overall, thumbs up. However, it didn't make me want this figure any more, as a matter of fact, seeing the film really made me wish they had chosen a different pose more directly related to the film because there were some very good ones.

The sculpt is pretty good, just not $380 good, so it's a pass for me most definitely. Enjoy all those that get it.
