I've never opened up a PF from Sideshow and gone "Yeech!", so I will maintain my cautious optimism.
My concern (again) is that (and I could be wrong) my impression is that SS has had at least a few opportunities to show us the production piece before shipping, and for some reason have chosen not to - leading me to at least consider whether this reason could be production issues in China (i.e. timing/production schedule issues) such that they were not ready with an approved production piece in time for SDCC 2014, or QC issues in China which yielded a less than impressive production sample that they weren't excited to bring to the ComicCon. If its the latter, however, one would hope such issues have been subsequently addressed. As I've said, I've never opened a PF and been seriously disappointed, and SS QC is generally quite good (with some notable exceptions).
The lesser concern is that we've been left to stare at what I consider a fairly MAGNIFICENT prototype for SO long now, that we're bound to be just a bit let down by the final piece. Here's hoping this will not be the case!
