I would assume that the factories are supposed to do test fits between the figure and the base. But then I would also assume they would use gloves... or maybe not.
 
Has anyone here destroyed their damaged thanos on throne in order to get their replacement but managed to keep the accessories, portraits, gauntlet etc?

If you've destroyed all the pieces, then that would also include destroyed accessories etc.
 
I've said it before that I've received a broken statue with a note inside from the previous owner.

Another question, I’m based in the uk, and even though I won’t have to pay postage for sideshow to send my Thanos replacement out, would I though still need to pay DHL custom charges again?

I'm also in the UK and I've just got my reply back asking if I could just destroy the broken body part.

"Thank you for your reply. We take these things in account prior to setting up your replacement. Please know that we cannot send just a body because the pieces of this statue are not interchangeable. Therefore in order to make sure everything fits properly, we need to fully inspect the piece and send out a complete replacement for your Thanos.

The replacement will be marked at a $0.00 value, and you are not required to pay any additional fees on this replacement. If for any reason your customs office requests you to pay any additional amount other than the fees you have already paid, please do not pay those fees and contact us as soon as you can to let us know and we'll be sure to assist you with that"

got my replacement EX today. took 5 months but kudos to SS for (finally) QC'ing this piece.

^^^ Yes full replacement. I had damage on the body and broken tooth on the left arm rest. The number did not change

they paint is better on this replacement too.

I wasn’t going to replace mine and just keep it but now I don’t know. When I got my hulk replaced they changed the number and the new hulk came and didn’t fit correctly. Damn if I do and damned if I don’t
