As I grew increasingly disillusioned with Star Wars and found I was losing any affection I had for it, even the OT, I had planned to watch Andor season 2 as the last bit of Star Wars. My personal Star Wars would be the OT, Rogue One and Andor. Maybe Mando season 1 and 2.
So I had expected to be excited for and watch Andor season 2.
However, my compete departure from Star Wars fandom and severing of the emotional ties I had with it since 1980 came even sooner than expected.
I thought Andor season 2 would be my goodbye to the series but now I'm entirely numb to Star Wars.
Andor season 2 will soon be here and I feel nothing for it.
I've already sold every Star Wars collectable I owned.
Here we are, HT finally doing a TIE pilot and ROTJ Han. Andor season 2 nearly here and I don't care about any of it. I'd have been excited a few months ago, maybe a year ago.
Oh well. I'm just not a Star Wars fan anymore.
Andor was significantly better than the typical Disney sludge. Hopefully season 2 will be as good or better.
I hope it will be worth the wait at least for whatever remains of this fandom.

Hmmmm I really ought to change my profile picture...

I only just re-subbed for Andor and Daredevil: Born Again. Do I feel dirty? Yes. Am I beyond hyped? Also yes. Dirty and hyped.
I mean you are supporting some good content....maybe not SW for some folks, but they have alot of content that's not SW? Not sure why everyone hates on Disney so much....they have done a lot of great content.

I kept meaning to do a rewatch of the first season before the new one dropped, but kept putting it off once I remembered all the slow spots I'd have to sit through again.

I'll be curious to see if the pacing has been improved this time around.

In spite of how much I enjoyed the show, I was sure it didn't have much re-watch value. So far I believe I was wrong; started from the beginning and on episode 5, as @Mandible pointed out the experience is actually improved by having all consecutive episodes available back to back.

I'm anticipating some slow down and repetition for the prison sequences but we'll see. Really enjoying being immersed in this take on the galaxy again.

Yeah, the prison bit was the only bit that was an effort on second viewing. And it's so odd because it doesn't really amount to anything of importance. Even if we never found out where parts of the DS were being made, or the couple of randoms that end up being part of the Rebellion, I can't see anything worthy of the sheer volume of screen time.

Maybe it will make sense after S2 :huh

Pretty close to identical to my list too.

Andor
ESB
R1
ANH
ROTJ

(I think ROJ has better highs than ANH but also lower lows, so although I enjoy it more I think ANH is the better film)

Solo (flawed but acceptable, better than most think and usually overlooked)
Mando s1 and s2: if edited down into solid movies, removing all the cringe, stupid and filler they could be great, as they are they sort of teeter on the edge.

PT: terrible but I also love a lot of the designs. I treat them like a sort of "from a certain point of view" / What if? style retelling of pre OT events, but not the exact actual events. Kinda like a third hand retelling of the story.
Damn, and here I thought you were a “PT guy” lol

Into the designs and I have a soft spot for the films but they are objectively poorly made and clash a lot with the OT. I collect a lot of clone figures etc but I would LOVE for the PT to be remade properly with some story adjustments. I want the sequels replaced even more though.

I thought about what was being developed there. Melshi and Andor bonding on the run didn't necessarily need all of the prison time beforehand, the payoff for which seemed to be Kino's (Serkis) tragic arc which was well done but highly compartmentalized, unless we see him again. It was perhaps a realistic step towards Andor's transformation but it's a lot of screen time. I'm about to see what it's like on second viewing.

I get what it conveyed is while Andor as much as he's managed to survive in the shadows alone, it's amounted to meaningless nothing, the prison puts him in a situation where he can't come out of this one alone, and realizes in his relentless ability to keep going, he can and does inspire others.

What Luthen has seen, and been getting Andor to tap into, for something greater than his own personal meager survival.

Agree, should definitely play out S2.
