Can anybody tell me what the difference is between these two physically (ie. did they both come with the interchangable heads, etc.)? Also, what was Sideshow's intentions by producing these two different statues? I was on the website and they look identical other than Edition Size. *Wait* Now, that I see the pics. The InterNtl. Ex. Thing is fashioned after Mike Wieringo's version. (i.e. long pants and boots.) So, I guess my only two questions are Why? And does the International Ex. have two interchangable heads like the other Thing Ex.?

The Exclusive edition has the interchangable head, the only one with that. Other than that its the same as the standard.

The International version has the pants and boots and is the only difference between the standard.

So bottom line:

Sideshow Thing Ex. - Has two Interchangable heads, but no pants or boots.

Sideshow Thing International Ex. - Has pants and boots, but no interchangable heads.

Is that right?

Also, what's Sideshow's intentions with all of that? Isn't one Ex. enough?

Exactly. The International version was "supposed" to be offered only overseas and a small allocation was brought over for collectors here. In theory it was never "supposed" to be offered in the states and SSC is doing us a solid.

I know that the Thing PF isn't the most popular....right now. But what seems to be the consensus down the road. Does the Thing Ex. hold its own in comparison to the Thing Internation Ex. or does one seem to be more saught after than the other? Just wondering if you had any predictions.

The Thing is seriously underrated. I love mine. The way to go is definitely the Exclusive because you get both HS and the Exclusive tends to draw more although I like the standard version HS better. The International versions usually draw more on the secondary market after they sell out like the Spider-Man 1:1 but I have a feeling that the International version will be rotting the shelves for a while. With nothing on the horizon to push the piece with hype it'll still hang. Now if they offer up Modern versions of the other members of the FF, even one like Reed or Johnny (I honestly don't see a Sue unless the others are done) then you'll see the International version hyped to get a matching set but I have a feeling if any other members of FF are done they'll be in classic form.

If you want the metrosexual version of the Thing statue, go with the international version with slacks and shoes. Otherwise, get the original exclusive with interchangeable heads.

Well, here's the thing. :)D No pun intended) I own the Thing Ex. (with the 2 heads), but just saw that Sideshow had a International version. I love the one I have, but honestly was suprised to see that there was another "exclusive." But from the way you put it, it sounds like fans will be drawn more towards the classic Thing (not the "Metro") in the long run.

Do we pass out Good Advice awards? *Hands award over* :lol

Thanks MesaScott and The Mike. I think I'll stick my Ex. and pass on the International one.

NO prob. I've said it before, I think the international Thing just diluted the edition size. It didn't seem to have much of a warm welcome amongst collectors. I know I don't like the look of the pants or the booties, which are sculpted and can't be removed.

I appreciate the advice. This is why I come here for all things Sideshow.

Just gotten my International Thing today, must say the paintworks isn't that great..
Kind of liked the pants & boots,if only it comes with the extra open mouth head...love that..gives the Thing more character..

Pass on Thing PF. Track this down instead and call it a day.

I already have the Ex. of that. :naughty I must say for those who do own that diorama. Do find it difficult to piece it together (Ie. getting Mr. Fantastic in after placing Johnny)? A little of topic but I thought I'd bring it up... I was amazing at how difficult it was without rubbing the two pieces together. But overall awesome piece. Now, back to the topic .... :D

Don't pass on this beauty:

Yeah, I agree. Like I was saying before, I own the Ex. version, but I honestly never knew an International version was available. I guess it flew under the radar. But from what I hear, I'll stick with mine. (Both pieces look great, don't get me wrong. No offense to those w/ the Interntl. version. It's just my opinion.) Bottomline is that we got one !! :banana
