Looking through a drawer of spare parts this afternoon I found the plastic packet containing Eleven's hospital gown, and suddenly wondered whether I could put it to use along with the second sculpt.
The only option on hand for a body was CGL's Carl Grimes, which I haven't had any interest in for years. So I broke him down and was surprised to find that he was almost the identical height to Eleven's.
Comparing the bodies, CGL's had defined calves as opposed to Threezero's stick thin lower legs. After testing it with the socks my focus changed to using Carl's body for the dress and jacket look. That meant the lesser sculpt would be on the lesser body, though Threezero's does have the seamless arms and 011 tattoo that goes better with the hospital gown option.
It took a bit of Frankensteining. The CGL body is wider across the shoulders, so I filed the shoulders down to make the clothing fit better. It needed a neck so I used the cup insert from inside a male sculpt. This not only fitted over the CGL joint, but the narrow section at the top also perfectly matched the inside of Eleven's sculpt.
The CGL ankle cups are larger than Threezero's ball joints, therefore the legs are just resting in the shoes at the moment.
For the hospital gown figure all I needed was feet, which was a a big oversight on Threezero's part. The closest in size and colour I had were from a VeryCool FX0B Suntan body. Some Frankensteining was required there too since nothing was compatible peg wise. I filed down a pair of rods, pushed them into the feet and cut them down until they were just short enough for Threezero's ankle cups.
'Medical Gown' El looks bored, as that was the weakest by far of the two sculpts. As more
Stranger Things figures arrive she'll disappear into the background.
The new body for the main figure is a big improvement to my eyes, because the original stick legs were really off putting, especially combined with her big shoes.
