seriously, this would have been the greatest 1/6 vader.

Except for the frontal shots, something's off, proportions I'm guessing.

Yeah he has no shoulders.:lol

But those Stormies look like Medi's.

No, it's the helmet dome, it must be very tricky, thankfully Medicom got it right, but something's off with Marmit. I think the part over the top of the head before it flares out isn't as wide as it should be. Whatever it is, it can be better and is certainly not something I'd tell another company to model off of, if anything I'd say study the Medi helmet.

Thats an ANH dome minus the widows peak thats why it looks funny IMHO the Marmit is the best (even with no shoulders) not that Medi is bad (it's the best we collectors have) It just doesn't look evil to me kinda looks like a young Vader helmet :lol

yep looking at the webpage they have a ANH Vader test sample then also an ESB sample(in which they have modified the the peak but have not reduced the size). but stills looks to be the best Vader we could hope for.

Still looks better than any we've seen mass produced so far. And as prototypes its possible some of the issues would have been addressed. Marmit was pretty cutting-edge, strange that a flagship figure like Vader got that far along and never got made?!?

You mean IF...:p

No, they must be...or else I'm going to have to destroy the whole world...

Would they give Boba a face??? If they did, they should go with the one from Star Wars Infinities...

Like Jango, but with spiky hair...

It's a Jeremy Bulloch Headsculpt, the guy who was boba in the OT.

SS when you are making your armored characters, just listen to Hot Toys and not a single person on this board.

Thanks.

It looks like marmit were going to make 3 more sandtrooper aswell, wonder why they stoped producing star wars?

Back when Marmit stopped, the rumor 'round the campfire was that HASBRO had Marmit's license pulled.

The official story was that HASBRO apparently had issues with Marmit repurposing various figure items, such as gloves or boots from one figure being used on another figure in the line.

Since that was how the STAR WARS films were made, and since HASBRO themselves have done this, it sounded like a smokescreen excuse to a lot of us.

My personal suspicion is that HASBRO had Marmit shut down because Marmit's stuff made HASBRO's 12" SW stuff look cheap.

I have absolutely NO PROOF WHATSOEVER to back that up. It's just a 'best guess'.

I heard that rumor too, hopefully the management at Hasbro has changed and they don't shut down SSC before the get to Vader.

If Hasbro was going to stop Sideshow, they'd have done it by now, I think Jabba the Hutt was the nail in the coffin. I think at this point, LFL being retarded or something like with MR is all that will hault Sideshow Star Wars, I hope anyway, I love it all.

Well, it's a completely different situation. When Marmit was doing their 12" SW figures, HASBRO was doing 12" SW figures. SSC is doing their 12" SW figures in partnership with HASBRO, I believe. Meaning, I think that HASBRO is willingly "sharing" their STAR WARS toy license with SSC. Notice that there
haven't been any HASBRO 12" STAR WARS figures since the launch of Sideshow's line.

Sideshow is in no danger of losing their STAR WARS license! :)

I noticed lack of Hasbro before the Sideshow license. I think Hasbro just wasn't right for a 1/6 line. Between size and cost, even at $20 each, that's a lot if you buy many for a child, so the toy marketing of the figures is out, and with companies like Medicom and Hot Toys out there, Hasbro's product wasn't up to the par that adult collector's were looking for in 1/6 figures, so the couldn't sell to that either. Then you have Sideshow, a good solution to it all. Affordable prices compared to competitors, and improved quality over what Hasbro could offer, thus being able to cater to the community that collects 1/6 figures.

Also, since HASBRO doesn't even make 12" GI JOEs anymore, they've kind of gotten out of the 1/6 scale business altogether. I think HASBRO was all too happy to let Sideshow take care of the 12 inch market.

Although! There WAS that 12" HASBRO Indiana Jones figure at San Diego last year... Kinda interesting to see the split: HASBRO gets to make the cheap 12" Indy that anyone can let their dog chew on, and Sideshow gets to make the more collectible 12" Indy that you slap your friends for breathing too hard on...

And I do believe that the SW 12" is along the lines of a sub-license to SSC through Hasbro - I was just kidding about SSC losing it.
