The DX version is shrunken recast though, this is from the ADI mold, hard to compare, I got my SS wolf after that released I'm sure and it was still hard to find and expensive as heck. I love it all the same though.

Yes, DX is just slightly smaller, but I prefer it to the SS piece due to nicer base, inside of mask detail, real lasers, aluminum lenses that don't rust, and hoses(and price of course). If nothing else the DX brought the crazy SS price down so it let a lot of collectors choose for themselves instead of being priced out at double or triple the DX price.

Oh I agree it looks nice, but it is still a recast, I just don't see why people would choose that over the real thing. It would be nice if SS put the same kind of effort in though, there would be no need for such things.

DX is not just a recast, it is a different product, that is why people choose it over the SS one(and why it killed the price of the SS version). Your basic cheap recasts don't outshine the original product or affect the value that much. I understand the SS version has its place, sure it is slightly larger if you set them right next to each other, but otherwise I don't see any other benefit. It also looks like the DX version is no longer being made, at least anywhere I can find and has not been for some time.
