Let me ask you this, do you collect the regular versions or the exclusives? if you collect the exclusives then they are important to you and you know what they represent. Basically the faux-bronze versions are exclusives on top of the exclsusives (if you did not know that) it's very simple. If you don't collect the exclusives that's absolutely understandable becuase only a few particular, true collectors understand the true importance of it.

I don't care what you like or not, I care less about you trying to justify it. I am slimply telling you what it represents. And if you don't get it, don't worry, you will never get it.

:lol Sorry, but that is the most specious argument I ever heard in justification of purchasing the faux bronze pieces, let alone purchasing them in addition to a regular or exclusive version of the exact same statue. If it's an aesthetic that appeals to you, then go nuts, and by all means fill Sideshow's coffers so that they can churn out NEW Dinosauria pieces in lieu of rehashes with different paint applications. I collect the exclusives because I like the skull that accompanies the statue, because the skull allows for are an homage to and worthy comparison for the fossil record from which the inspiration for the piece was first drawn, and because most frequently the exclusives go through first with their paint application so you're more likely to get a well-painted statue. The "true importance"? It's collecting. What you get out of a statue is what you project onto it, there is no intrinsic lofty purpose to the faux bronze duplications, and that is EXACTLY what they are - duplications of existing pieces. I don't plan on forking out $200+ on a duplicate if I could happily put that money toward something entirely new. Same candy, different wrapper. JUST purchasing the faux bronze I can understand, but if one were to purchase a regular or exclusive version, and then the faux bronze as well, it is more than a bit self-indulgent for reasons which truly boggle my mind. The "completist" argument falls way, way short of soundness.

If I had enough $$$, I would have definitely also gone for the faux bronze editions too...but I can't even afford the exclusive versions with the skulls (only the Deinosuchs vs Parasaurolophus dio is an exception) :(
