Hell, maybe it's a straight-up HT body. In which case, I'm willing to bet we see a price jump that starts with Indy here.
Fortunately, both bodies are around the same height, so it won't be too jarring to see them next to each other. Now all we need is an HT style buck with a neck peg that we can use to swap out the earlier bodies from old figures.
And with all the exposed muscular arms in the G.I. Joe preview, I think it'd be a good bet we'll also see the Rambo/Rocky body put to use for figures like Gun-Ho and Roadblock.

While I hope it is a hot toys body, I hope they are designed with different heights in mind.
Having a few figures with the current HT body, the shoulders on Indy don't look as awkwardly wide, which is great.
Here's an illustration to show that it's a 2 jointed neck. You can see the vertical of the head isn't aligned with the vertical of the neck.
This is so promising.

Well, we've got the hobbit/child body, which appears to be an HT innovation, the standard 12", the muscular 12", and the 14" predator body. We're just missing one for shorter characters.
I already thought ahead and snagged a Predator body to use for the inevitable Darth Vader figure. But if SSC is using HT bodies now, that's probably not needed anymore!

Just as the hobbit body isn't just a shrunk down standard HT body, I doubt SSC will just use the standard HT body, but will improve on it. We may not know at Toy Fair, but we'll probably see soon after whether this is a buck modification or a completely new body.

what? unless they're full of crap, this was the only thing holding back the armored figures Nash.
The armor did not work with the crappy buck, and it seems they have finaly put the buck to bed.

oh you so baaaad! if it is a new body it looks pretty good. just from the one pose on that cover it looks smiles better. one thing i hope the new body has is compatibility with hot toys heads and hands. i love easy body swaps. and a cheap price too. and diamonds in its butt. yeah i know - some people want everything. especially if they're from mediworld. coz we're all a bunch of crazed loons on there, right?
