Sideshow's New Male 12" Body

A new body is way overdue and will definitely improve the quality of the figures but the tailoring also has to be improved and if the production Indy turns out as good as in that pic then it'll be clear sign that Hot Toys have been helping with more than just new bodies. As for armored figures it's cool for those that have waited so long for SSC to make them as it would appear the wait could soon be over but I have no desire to buy any more,I'm sick of Medicom's near endless run of them and would hate for SSC to start doing the same just when I've started to regain some intrest in the line.

That is why I hope SS keeps mixing it up and not just give us a endless string of armor once they start. Dooku and Tarkin need to hurry up!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah a good mixture is best. I'd not be too bothered about a Dooku as I'm in the process of completing a custom one but Tarkin would be intresting to see.

I believe SS did say in their Indy license press release that Indy collectibles will be starting at $69.99 so it looks like Indy might be starting out at that price or a little higher.

Just notice the way the trouser or pants fit around the waist. Usually SSC figure tend to collapse against the body because of the old school joints definately be a massive improvement when displaying.

I'd be fine with that too. Biker Scouts, Stormtroopers and ROTS Clone Troopers top my list, any of those will be fine with me.

The good news is, with the new body complete, I'm confident now that not only will we see armor in 2008, but the figures will be all the can, benefiting from the double jointed neck and new body.

2008 will be the year we see armor I have no doubts there as well as the new body. Makes collecting even more exciting if the product didn't do that already.

Hells YEAH!!! Nearly every Sideshow 1/6 scale line would benefit from a body upgrade with HT style neck options. If all this is true then it's really a major breakthrough. Probably won't be too long before we start getting some of those armoured figures we've all been waiting for! Like Aragorn, Theoden, Eomer, Boromir and Faramir, even a prologue Elendil or Gil-galad... just to name a few. Unchain the Wookies!

New body, I hope so, 2 joint neck, I hope not, I think his beard would look more natural with a full neckline.

Again, I hope this new body, like HT's body has a single neck connection point that can be used for a multitude of adapters that best suit each figure.

I had the same thought yesterday after Trevor mentioned them having to chop the neck of his sculpt. I think for some figures where the neck is "standard" we'll be fine, but someone like Sidious would either have to just have a ball jointed neck or a separately sculpted neck joint.

But to have a smooth neck running into a wrinkled face would be a problem. And I hope Sideshow paints the necks... no exposed plastic, thats one thing that bothers me about the HT bodies.

oh you so baaaad! if it is a new body it looks pretty good. just from the one pose on that cover it looks smiles better. one thing i hope the new body has is compatibility with hot toys heads and hands. i love easy body swaps. and a cheap price too. and diamonds in its butt. yeah i know - some people want everything. especially if they're from mediworld. coz we're all a bunch of crazed loons on there, right?

Definitely so... but a Hurricane custom off a Sideshow base figure using a hot toys style body... now that will be incredible.
