If it is a new body, I hope Sideshow updates ANH Luke and Han with this before they hit production.:chew

I wouldn't expect that.

I was thinking/wondering last night if we'd see those guys on the new body but then it hit me that likely, the sculpts would have to be altered to fit the new neck, which Han and Luke aren't.

Han and Luke also have hair that would likely complicate the conversion, where Indy's is shorter so it may not have been hard to take Trev's sculpt and remove the neck to make it for the new neck style.

I reeeally hope they unveil it! this would be a much needed shot of enthusiasm for all of Sideshow's lines not just Indiana.
I'm almost for curtain that's what Indiana is on. The neck looks almost exactly like a Hot Toys neck and the poseing of said neck is incapable for a SSC Buck to achieve.
It's about damn time!!

Trev pretty much confirmed it in the indy board. it is a two part neck.
IF the neck joint is compatable with the neck adapters from hot toys

sideshow heads can be adapted to fit these with a bit of hot glue in the neck hole.
If that's the case, I Will switch my bodies out.

mostly due to lighting and the more subtle mustache of the digital paintup. If light doesn't catch Ford's upper lip, he goes wonky. ( by upper lip I mean the whole area between his nose and mouth.

We chopped the neck too, so that comes into play. the neck tapered too much before because of the Buck body attachment, but it did address the look of how the muscles run up to Ford's head (the sternomastoid muscles) the sacrifice will be worth it for a more poseable head.

While I'll agree that this particular HT joint is better than the buck, the 2 jointed neck, as it looks to be on Indy, is even more articulation and hopefully what MOST future Sideshow figure feature. There will be cases, and hopefulyl they've planned for it, where having a sculpted neck will make a big difference, such as older characters like Obi-Wan and Palpatine where defining their age partly comes from the way their skin behaves in the neck area.

Oh I agree whole heartedly, but A better body, even without the double neck makes me happy.:D

That is indeed exciting. Like I said, at this stage, my hope is for a new body, but like HT's body, the ability to have multiple neck post styles so that characters who would really benefit from a sculpted neck get it, and characters who would benefit from maximum articulation get that.

this also makes me wonder abouththe clone trooper shilouette on the toyfair page.....:monkey3

I don't wonder, as Medi's already previewed it and it hasn't gone for order, but I'm also hoping that Sideshow's first Trooper be something more interesting than the AOTC armor, since ROTS offers some really neat designs to make a bang with unveiling their first armored figure.

Granted. we will know for sure in 24 hours.

for the record, I think you're right about it being a medi clone.

But I can hope damnit.:D

Well if the silhouette were more ROTS, I'd be more hopeful, but like I said, I personally am not rooting for that design to be SSC's big break into the armor world.

I still think Biker Scouts will be the first troopers we see. They look simpler than normal Stormtroopers and will go with the Rebel Soldiers.

I'd be fine with that too. Biker Scouts, Stormtroopers and ROTS Clone Troopers top my list, any of those will be fine with me.

The good news is, with the new body complete, I'm confident now that not only will we see armor in 2008, but the figures will be all the can, benefiting from the double jointed neck and new body.

A new body is way overdue and will definitely improve the quality of the figures but the tailoring also has to be improved and if the production Indy turns out as good as in that pic then it'll be clear sign that Hot Toys have been helping with more than just new bodies. As for armored figures it's cool for those that have waited so long for SSC to make them as it would appear the wait could soon be over but I have no desire to buy any more,I'm sick of Medicom's near endless run of them and would hate for SSC to start doing the same just when I've started to regain some intrest in the line.

it's funny... just as I'm thinking about resculpting my HT Superman Returns figure to turn the double neck into a single one more like Sideshows (losing the flexibility... but gaining a more realistic shape) .... Sideshow start doing their figures turning their single neck into the double one :rotfl

I would imagine that the double neck will only be used when it serves the character best. As the image shows, it sure helps out for Indy.
