Yeah, if you use points on something you won't get points on that something.

Yeah, in my case I saved $40 buck by using points, but I don't get the remaining value of the $80 in reward points. But really, I guess I can live w/o the $4 off my next purchase in return for a savings

But in the future, I'll try to remember to save my points until the equal the price of what I'm buying... that would seem to be the optimal way to do it.

Funny thing is, I've hesitated to use points many times when I could even get something for free. I'm always like, "Nah... I need more."

That's about how many I had in November before I caved in and used them. But I don't think I'll ever have that many again, especially since I've cut down like crazy on my spending. I am now very selective on all my purchases, especially PFs.
