So to be quite honest, the bloke on IGN has clearly never played an SH game before. its always had stiff combat, because the focus has never been on combat bar Homecoming which I loved too. SH2, you could go through all the game without fighting an enemy apart from Boss fights.

Framerate issues and couple of low textures are common criticisms, but I really dont care if it looks like Uncharted because it has a great story, which is what I want from an SH game. IGN dude is purely a ____ really.

Its about perspective really. If you've never played an SH game,dont know the series or dont understand its values, you'll think its ____e, it doesnt play like COD or Uncharted, therefore its naff.

Look at deadly premonition. I loved that, and the PS3 is getting an updated version of it which I shall be purchasing. But that had terrible controls and laughable voice work on par with RE1. But I love them kinds of games, and SH always had an awsome story regardless of whether its 1 or 5. Cept for shattered memories. Still hate that game.

Ign have always been crap. The game wont be amazing but looking at the score differences someone mentioned it here once best. IGNorant.

As a long time fan, already got this one coming from Amazon. Supposedly same day guarantee, but have yet to get a confirmation notice its even been sent. LOL

IGN = WTF. Rest are pretty consistent to each other. Seems like the devs tried to emulate 'classic' Silent hill and its not to everyone's liking.

The funny thig is, I went and read a bit of the IGN review. And his complaints about the combat system being clunky and what not just made me think, "okay, so like every other Silent Hill game...yep no problems here...move along" so I stopped reading the review.

Yeah, the IGN reviewer makes himself sound like he has no idea what SH is all about.

Get someone who has followed SH from game 1 IGN. That's my comment concerning his fighting remarks.

Getting ready for this one by re-reading the IDW 4 part comic: Silent Hill Past Life. At least has the connection to Postman, Howard even though it takes place in late 1800s.

Seems like we have at least two hardcore SH fans here......awesome. I suspect this game is gonna rock for fans' of silent hill, and the comic is certainly not required reading or the like.

I have heard the 360 version runs pretty smooth, but the ps3 one is buggy

The art is incredible and every time I saw Awinita in the background I got chills...eerie.

Definitely a hardcore SH fan here I just wish there were more collectibles

Just about done with my re-read of Past Life, and hoping for some nice 'nods' in Downpour itself. Would love to see the church - very creepy in the comic mini/ Speaking of which, if you guys don't know: turn to page 16 of chapter 3 and look at the people in the church. The preacher is pretty much the artist Menton3 himself, with producers of SH Downpour in row 2 right side, behind the sheriff. maybe another cameo on opposite side too, just not sure who that is.
