That's awesome. Thanks for posting that in here.:clap Great mini props, too.

No worries, brother! I was hoping you didn't mind! I'll post a short video too. If you don't want it here, of course you can get rid of it, but I thought you might appreciate it. Just my way of sharing and giving thanks and credit to everyone involved with this terrific custom! :hi5:

I totally appreciate people posting their own pics of my work. It's very welcome. Thanks for the video. I watched it twice. And now I know how to pronounce your Freaks name ( M-R-A ).

Awesome! Glad you enjoyed the short video! People seem to be digging on it and especially your paint work of course! And yeah, my user name is weird, but I've had it forever! Way before Eminem and crap like that! Mine just seems to be harder to pronounce at first. That's what I get for trying to be original on the computer a couple decades ago now! :lol

That's exactly how SilentSurfer is for me. I was just trying to come up with a user name when AOL first came out, and I wanted something to use so nobody would know who I was when I was surfing the net, so I came up with "SilentSrfr" back when you could only have 10 characters. And then when I started lurking in forums I continued with the full "SilentSurfer", and that ironically ended up being how I'm known everywhere.

It's not hard to pronounce, but most people keep spelling it as two words "Silent Surfer" instead of one bid word with two big S's, or they just don't really read it and think I'm SilverSurfer.:slap

Well, it's been too long since I updated you all with Sano Alien WIP pics. I usually try to complete a whole step before taking pics, but this is one very long step and it keeps getting interrupted by major project deadlines, so I thought I'd go ahead take mid-step pics to show you what's taking so long.

What I have done so far on the body is still a ways away from the final look.

First, I still need to finish detailing the right hand and legs, and then I have to go back over certain large sections and give it a lighter haze to soften the details. Then I will darken up most of it further and add brown and rusty tints to specific areas. The last steps will be to gloss it up, and then chrome the teeth and paint the nails.

And then I'll start the base, but I have no idea what clever thing to do with it yet. Right now I'm just worried about finishing the Alien in time for Prometheus to come out.

Enjoy.

Wow, that looks killer! How many hours do you suppose to get it to that stage?

This really made my day. I really try to be everything he described. I'm glad he, like many of you who follow this thread, see that.

Anyone who has seen anything you've done knows what you mean. Surfer, you have never failed to amaze. Like your SS Boba prototype. It looks like a fanatical Boba Fett fan poured over this to make sure it looked exactly like what every other sculpt has missed. For all your talk of workload and deadlines, I've never seen something you've had pics of and even once thought you looked like you were just trying to get done. Your work is great, its easy to see you're a perfectionist and a fan, and thats about the best compliment I can give you. This Alien is just another example of how your vision delivers. Your works are one of the best things on these boards. :clap:clap:clap:clap:clap

I couldn't have said it better myself.

If SilentSurfer were in the dictionary, this would be the description :thud:
