"The only winning move is not to play." So, do I not play the game, and just be true to myself? Or is that in itself just me playing the game by my own rules. All I know is life on a planet full of human beings is hard.

I go to bed / sleep / wake up in the morning with this exact thought.

There are no kids my age (38) down the street who's house I can run to with exciting news. That's what I love so much about this forum. We all "get" each other here. We're all living our childhood dreams 'together'.

Hey, man. You're always welcome at my house. (Granted, New Jersey is a bit of a hike!)

I'll bring the beer and pizza! :duff

Journey from Cali to Jersey for pizza and beer.... that works!:lol

Not just me then....

And feeling isolated sucks big time. Hector and I are going to see Prometheus with some other friends this Friday in Orange County, you're welcome to join us if you feel like making the drive :exactly:

I would so love to see that with you guys. Thanks for the offer. The drive would be totally worth it. I do already have tickets for the midnight up here in the desert though, and my borther's driving up here to see it with me. If there's one person on this planet who I am absolutely comfortable with, it's him. And then Friday, we're doing the Alien saga marathon.

If we all end up feeling the need for a rescreening though, I would drive down to the OC. That's my old hood after all.

I shortened the neck adapter. You'll see.

Good. Hope to see pics soon.

Camera sucks but the neck now looks way better. I shortened the adapter maybe 1/8" to 3/16".

Ah I thought that was fun lol. What a great sculpt.

Closeup shot of the excellent paint work.

Big thank you to Nathan for such a great job as always in the paint job. Your paint really brings out the life in these sculpts. (That Dude was yours too) Oh and also thanks to stshammgod for the not pictured "save the clock tower" flyer which Nathan so kindly included in the box with my head. Thanks to Erik Sosa with the brilliant sculpt. Thanks to Rainman for the awesome outfit and accessories.

Big ups to my wallet for affording this:lecture

Just saw this post by Warriors Gate on Facebook. I painted this head last year some time, I believe. It's nice to finally get to see the finished piece. Came out great!

sorry I forgot to post here! Awesome work as always!! I always love seeing your thread - it's one of the only ones that I regularly visit :)

Amazing work on Ivy...I actually get a Nicole Kidman vibe from that sculpt, though (especially with the wig on).

I can see that a little. Thanks.

No worries. I regularly visit yours, plus I have you on Facebook, so I don't miss much.

She turned out great! Happy to be a part of it!

On that note, here's my fully finished Sano 1/5 Big Chap Alien and base. I went for a look that would be reminiscent of Giger's art style as well as the weathered look of the Space Jockey. I still haven't figured out how I'm going to decal "XENOMORPH" on the front, but I'm happy with it empty for now anyway. My plan is to make it look like a digital read out in MU-TH-R 182 computer font like the front panel is actually a screen.

I used the decal that came with it for the back of the base. I really wanted to include the "ROSWELL JAPAN" and "Sculpted by Yoshihiko Sano" text, but I did not realize it wasn't a water decal. I've never seen a rub off decal, and I ruined those tiny letters figuring it out. Looks good with just A L I E N on it though.

I had one of the Konami Chestbursters, a really well done piece, and in scale with this statue fortunately. I didn't like the paint, so I stripped it down. The main body is actually a perfect base color and should allow for some great translucent effects. The bigger tail section was actually white but should easily enough by made to match the body. The end of the tail though, absolutely would not let go of the paint, but I know it's white underneath. I'll have to do my best to blend it with the rest when I paint it. Once repainted and bloody, Big and Little Chap will share the same base.

And just in time for the official Prometheus release in the U.S. tonight at midnight, this landed on my doorstep from Station today. It has all the things I asked for--proper measurements, etched logo that lights up, and it even has a slightly recessed footprint to keep the Alien base properly centered. There is a small stress crack in the front to the viewer's left of the logo, and the acrylic is scuffed in spots, but it's still great work for a great price. It's just a dust cover anyway, so I'm very pleased.
