"There's a legend around here. A killer buried, but NOT dead. A curse on Crystal Lake, a death curse. Jason Voorhees' curse. They say he died as a boy, but he keeps coming back. Few have seen him and lived. Some have even tried to stop him. NO ONE can." -Narrator (F13VII)

" Did you know a young boy drowned the year before those two others were killed? The counselors weren't paying any attention... They were making love while that young boy drowned. His name was Jason."

Wow, that blood on Axe and Mask.....uuuu, freaky and amazing job!!!

AND SCRATCHED PAINT! Now I noticed it, how beautiful it is! It is so perfectly done, that I didn't realize that you paint it!

I thought that mask was 1:1, unbelievable detail, especially all the weathering. My jaw dropped when I scrolled down and saw it next to a battery. Love the Mike paintup too.

What do you have planned to show at famcom? I'm thinking of making the trek out to SoCal for it.

Totally should. I'd love to meet you there.

I'm bringing my Sano Alien statue, Cutey Honey from my banner, a step by step head line up of Walter to show off my paint process, my fully customized "Bloody Nightmare" Jason (who that mask is for), and a repainted Elvira in lingerie PF (if I manage to get it done in time). Plus a few people I've done work for will be sending/bringing their figures with my paint on them to display.

I love that Jason mask. The scratches and chevron look great. Amazing painting.

Thanks. I'm so **** about detail in fact that I've since gone back and retouched the chevron scratches to make them even more accurate. The pics made me painfully aware the the right side of the chevron was unevenly lower than the left. Not anymore!

Great paint up on Summer. She is a difficult person to capture both in form (beautiful work Trevor) and in color.

So I'm working on my Walter White paint process set for Famcon using heads people have sent for paint/repaint, and I'm so sad to see (after stripping the painted ones) that only 1 out of the 6 heads is an original Trevor casting. I've painted loads, so I know. The other 5 are definite recasts.

This recasting thing is getting pretty crappy. Recasting stuff for your personal use is one thing. Doing it for your financial gain is BS!

What a bunch of ****. It's that piece of garbage Q who's been doing it. I messaged him over eBay but it seems there's no stopping him.

Yeah, that **** with Q pisses me off. Trev not only gave his blood sweat and tears, but his time too. And his casts were great and inexpensive. I wish there was a way to nail Q for that crap.

Recasting definitly sucks, but for the uninitiated it's hard to tell what's what, or most don't even know what that means.
I remember when I first starting buying predator statue kits on eBay I had no idea about recasting and bought several cheap kits from overseas, only to find out later that the reason they were so cheap was because they WERE cheap and stolen.
The recasters prey on the uninformed.

There is only one aspect to recasting that I kinda don't have a problem with, and that's if the model kit (or whatever) is long sold out, the company or sculpter has already made all the money they will, and a recast is the ONLY way for a die hard fan to get one.

That's not the case here though. Trevor is just stopping temporarily (as far as I know).

In fact, I'll have a special reveal at Famcon (I think) of something he might be offering soon, but previously did not have time to cast up.

I'm not sure you could draw that line, because that covers everything Q does. The Rainman and iminime stuff he did was "one and done" stuff. Rainman only re-offered those heads to combat the recasting.

The only way people could get a Dude head is through Q.

Yeah, we may not be able to draw that line in this hobby, but with the old garage kit, model kit days, once a mold was used up, that was it, and years later, you were lucky to find a recast.

Then China jumped on it and recast the hell out of everything with no regard for quality control.

This. When you start making exceptions it seems hypocritical to claim any stance against recast. The thing that baffles me is the willingness to support the reworked recast. People complain about what happened to Trevor and other sculptors and turn right around and support things like the Han Solo mash up that was two SS heads recast and combined together. There are plenty of sculptors on here offering original work. The garage kit thing is an old and weak argument as well. I've collected garage kits for close to 20 years. The bar keeps getting raised higher and higher. Most of the older stuff has been redone, and done better. With patience and persistance originals eventual become available if that is what you want. May not hurt to give your customers that send you recast to paint a friendly reminder of why the practice hurts the hobby. Maybe they already know and don't care, but the respect people have for you may cause a few to be more careful about who and where they are buying from.
