So they said they weren't satisfied but used your paintwork on the sculpt to presumably draw customers attention to promote their product? Unbelievable.

Beautiful work on it as usual though, Nathan! :clap

They've been pushing this sculpt for months and they finally get it painted by a top painter to sell more casts, which they are after the painted pics came out, and then they DON'T even pay?! Wow:mad:

I say shove that pic in their face and DEMAND payment - that is out of order mate! I know how this game works and we are real lucky to have you paint stuff when we don't arrange it (the Indy WGP sculpt for Wake for example) and it is free promotion (for us) so to send you a sculpt and then get the pic for free - because that is all that they need - is completely out of order. Seriously, that is NOT on- don't let those creeps get off so easily

I don't see what's wrong with that paint-up to be honest. It looks fine.

which is why they used it in their promo pic!

the short of it is that they did not need the actual sculpt in hand when they could photoshop it onto the body so they refused payment making up some bull that it was not good enough so they could get out of paying :lecture

Agreed, if they really didn't like the paint work and refused to pay, then they should never have used the image to promote the product. Very shady and I will certainly never give them my business.

I Don't normally get involved with things of this nature but in my eyes if someone does work for you, you should be paid why use the head to promote a sculpt if not happy with it that don't make sense. Nathan has been polite and great with me and not even knowing me really so trust has to be there, I think the paint job is great as always.

that's a fantastic paint-up and i'm about 200% percent positive they hoodwinked you.

they could've at least picked a photo that had the same light reference as your photo - sheesh ;) butts.

sorry this happened. i hear about about sculptors getting screwed all the time, but guess it happens to painters too. at least you have an avenue to recoup your losses. bravo for that.

What a slimy move! You should have been paid whether they liked how it turned out or not.

If they didn't like the work, the simple answer is to pay up and then move on to a different painter. Live and learn. Sometimes things work out, sometimes they don't. But you can't contract someone to do a job and then not pay up when the job is done. That's bush league.

Those are the kinds of business practices that come back to bite you if you're trying to run a company.

Sir, this is me, on your behalf:

The paintwork on that MOS is fantastic. It may, for whatever reason, not quite be what the customer wanted, but they must be aware of your previous work and therefore know your 'style' or else they wouldn't have commissioned you?
Plus, your work, and your name, was used to promote the sculpt - why do that if you aren't happy with it?!
