Thanks, everybody, for the high praise. If ever there was a labor of love, this kit was it. I'm pleased to share it with those who can appreciate it almost as much as I do.
She still has a headstone shaped coffee table with bird leg feet and a nameplate I need to get to, but for now, this is what I've waited over 20 years to see, so I'm satisfied.

The second I read that you were putting it off for all that time I was like, "yea. it's those fishnets"
I'm sure it was grueling but the finished product is INSANE. Worth every ounce of effort and then some
like you've unleashed every ounce of potential energy from the resin...if that makes sense.

I think that credit belongs to Thomas Kuntz for his amazing sculpt. Truly quality ahead of his time.

Thank you! To make matters worse, I had impatiently attached her legs to the body early one, so she could sit on the couch unpainted. Trying to reach some of those deeper curved areas was strenuous, if such a term can be applied to sitting in a chair for hours not actually doing much moving.

I've seen a couple things that have caught my eye mainly this flying saucer model kit and was wondering about some of the better model kit brands that focus on the classic monster genres.
The repair work on the couch is top notch! Much like what you were able to accomplish with the Alien hose/tube things you were trying to figure out awhile ago. You are probably one of the top "go to" guys with answers to all kinds of problems. A true Maestro!
Well worth the 20 year wait I see. I have a number of projects I keep waiting on thinking I'll get better with time and get to eventually, but I know I'm just fooling myself. I'm glad (as I'm sure you are too) that you finally took the time to get back to your labor of love for this kit and this subject matter.

Billiken and Horizon were good for classic monsters. Moebius and Screamin did several Mars Attacks model kits. For a good idea of what might be out there, do an eBay search of your favorite key words. You'll find plenty. I think the saucer you're talking about was by Screamin.

Thank you. It is more time consuming, and not always viable as a commissioned project, to do a full model kit build up, but it sure is rewarding on a whole other level because so much needs to go into it. When a kit really shines, you know the artist put time and heart into it.

If you're passionate about it, just keep doing it. If you get good enough to get work for a company and learn to work even when you don't feel like it, then you start really learning some stuff by problem solving, and you'll gain more experience faster. Experience is the best teacher. Just start and don't stop.
I've been painting off and on for twenty years, but I wouldn't say I was great at it until after 2010, and there's probably a fair difference between five year old work and now still.

Yes, and I will be part of the Iminime booth this year, painting something of theirs. I did not have time this year to work on enough new projects to justify my own booth, and Denny was kind enough to let me join his. I will have a few things on display though, including Vampira.
