That is pretty nice although I think the hair are too green, they should be more of a brown, light brown at the to of the head.
I also think that the ahir on top of the head are a little too puffy.

Okay, so I agreed with those of you who thought the hair was too green, so I went over it again with the magic airbrush. Here he is again with darkened hair. And, no, I didn't just Photoshop the first pic. I just took the same angle shot and framed it the same way.

As for the puffiness of the hair on top, I think the angle of the head is adding to that effect. This shot is very tilted forward. You can tell by the curve of the neck's bottom edge.

Can I ask how much you charge for paint and rooted hair mod? Its nice to know for future reference.

I'd have to recalculate the time it took to do it. Like I mentioned, it was more work than I expected it to be. At least I'd know what I'm doing next time.:)

Dude, it is amazing how far you have come..

Amazing work as usual Nathan :thud:

Congrats on your Sideshow work.
Outstanding pieces!
You really make them shine!
That Joker is crazy!!! Awesome!

Thanks guys. I love doing this stuff, and your compliments make it that much more rewarding. You guys keep it up and I will too.:hi5:

I also think this is the best mod to a HT Joker head by far. Great work Nathan.

really really awesome work. That's my favorite joker mod I've seen hands down.

I also think this is the best mod to a HT Joker head by far. Great work Nathan.

Thank you guys. I've seen some pretty nice ones myself, so hearing that really means a lot. I have to admit, I was uncertain if I could live up to the challenge.

The hair is very natural and messy looking... wonderful work!

Now get back to that Jason Pt 3 :rock

Thank you, and I really wish I could. I have an AVP and P2 Elder for quilling and full repaint on my table right now plus a dream project coming up from Sideshow. Jason, unfortunately, has to wait a bit longer, but after tonight's episode of Face Off on Syfy with guest judge Sean Cunningham, creator of Friday the 13th, it kills me to have to wait.:gah:

127 Quills later, the Elder Preds are ready for repaint. All of these quills were recasts made by the figures' owner. They came out really well, requiring only minimal sanding on some of them to get rid of casting flash.

Time to break out the old making of AVP book.

The first of my contributions to the Joe universe.

Oh man, I didn't even know a Viper was coming. I haven't bought a Joe since the Commander, but that looks great, might have to get it to flank him.

When can you show off full body pics Surfer?

I think the Viper will be available for preorder next Thursday, so a gallery might be posted on Sideshow's site on Tuesday. I can't reveal anything before they do.

I used to write big ol' tutorials for everything I did, but there are so many talented people here making a small living doing customs that I kinda stopped. I'm sometimes willing to share tips via PMs though.

Man, what a great gallery for the Viper. Love it!

This awesome helmet actuall came in six parts which I had to assemble, and then hide the seams before painting. You really can't appreciate what it takes to make these amazing figures until you see it from the inside.

I thought this detailed panel in the back looked inspired by RoboCop, so I painted it that way.

I remember painting all those. Each of those Bushmaster rifles has like 12 parts, and I did three of them for this project.:thud:
