... any chance we could get you to suggest to sideshow to toss in a second set of the boots with no mud all over them? they look so great all clean....

:lol I couldn't think of any other blue things I could hint at.

Hey Nathan, thanks for sharing those WIP shots! Especially of the unmasked head. Sideshow really didn't show it off well in their pics.

And you are right, that Viper head does look somewhat familiar. Perhaps it really is the guy at Sideshow you are thinking of. They've done that before (ie Brant Bridges as on of the Endor Guys, Tom and Heath as a Civil War guys, etc).

The Viper looks really sweet! Whenever you can, do please share WIP pics after the full reveal. I love behind the scenes stuff :rock

@lerath: I'm not sure what Sideshow's plans are, but be sure they have been watching/reading the Viper thread. They can and do adjust things according to feedback often.

I will say though that mud doesn't look 'too much' in person (just saw them today on my visit to Sideshow), and the clean boots left the figure looking kinda cartoony.

I would also suspect that the helmet is not meant to come off of the production head.

viper looks great. thanks for sharing. you do great work.

Thank you.

Nice shots. Second sculpt looks great but nobody at Sideshow that I know.

I was kidding. I know for a fact it is somebody at Sideshow. I saw him just today in fact.

Dreads.jpg

Is that airbrush or paintbrush?
What paint colors did you use for the dreds? I wanted to do a pred that was starting do get the blue/gray coloring in his dreds but not fully like an elder. I want him to have that look that he's getting old but still have some black dreds.

I used an airbrush for the dreads. I went over it with a light gray, making it more solid gray at the ends, and then went back over it with a dark, almost black color to break it up a bit, and make the roots darker like they are in the movie.

Can you confirm or deny if this is the 1:6 Zartan head?

They teased this MONTHS ago but we're still debating on whether it is the 1:6 sculpt or something else. And you'd be able to put that argument to rest of course :lol
