:impatient: Just wondering if you got my pm? I was going to bring something with me to the 1/6 Xpo just in case. :wink1:
Commissions and Sideshow projects are heavy right now, but I'm getting through them. Nobody will go unanswered. Sorry it's taking so long. I'm focused on catching up the work before I schedule more.

I am very happy that so many of you like my work so much that you're beating down my inbox to get stuff done. Thanks.

I've been getting through PMs. Yes, I got yours about Sunohc's Tyler. Responding is a little more than just saying, "Sure, I'll do it." I'll get back to you with details. Thanks for letting me know that you will be at Xpo though.

Beautiful stuff Nathan. So sorry you have to sell your gorgeous predator. Good luck in your sale. I know all about moving and the expenses (not to mention the absolute pain in the derrier). I look forward to hearing from you regarding my PM to you (but I am not pushing, I know you are busy)

Great to hear you'll be at the show Nate. I fly out Friday. See ya there!

Flying out???!!! Wow, you really want to go to this thing. Cool. See you there. It should be fun. Xpo aside, the building it's in is a giant indoor swapmeet of collectibles, comics, and cards all the time. Even Stan Lee has been there to sign autographs, as well as loads of b-list celebs, wrestlers, models, etc. It will be nice to meet you.

Thanks, I'm starting my drive down in the morning and just wanted to check before I just approached you at the convention. :monkey1

Can you believe I've been officially painting for Sideshow for over a year now, and still not a single thing I've painted has been released yet. Goes to show ya how long this process really is, and I don't even know how long it takes to get from Sideshow's to do list to casting up the final parts for painting.

I was working on Waxer and Boil exactly a year ago. I can't wait to see a final production version of my own work in my hands. Come on June!:impatient:

Sideshow keeps one in-house for photos, and the other one or two go to China factories for reporduction. Many of the pieces on display at the Sideshow offices are the actual prototypes.

Here is a rare, and nearly impossible to find M1 Godzilla (vs Biollante) '89 1:1 scale vinyl model kit head cast from the actual Godzilla suit from the movie. I say nearly impossible to find because I actually scored this from an eBay seller. I had one years ago, but sold it when money got tight, and I had regretted it ever since. I had built my other one up, but never painted it. This time I'm painting it right away.

Freshly assembled:

Next to my other 1:1 awesomeness and a picture I drew with Prisma color pencils in high school circa '92.

A better shot of my 'Nikki' for ya. This drawing made me famous in high school and for several years afterward. "Hey, you're that guy that drew the French Maid in art class."

Back to Godzilla in his place of honor atop my computer desk tower.

And the painting begins in the mouth. His skin is very dark gray/ black, so that's easy, and this kit comes with printed eyes that go in behind acrylic lenses, so really this is the only hard part to painting Godzilla. The lower jaw was separate, and the inner mouth and teeth were also two separate pieces, and all of this needed to be glued in place so that I could hide any gaps and not worry about messing up the paint assembling it later. It was kinda hard to manuever my airbrush in there, but I managed it well enough. I still have the teeth to do, but the mouth interior and tongue are done.

Lower interior:

Upper interior:

The black heart shape in the back of the throat is where the tongue glues on.

I'll have more pics as I get around to painting the rest. Back to paid work for now.

Mmmmmm. Nikki :monkey5

Nice Godzilla, too. That thing is going to look amazing! Acrylic eyes?

Pretty cool to see some personal work mixed in with the professional stuff.

I'll look forward to seeing how that beast turns out.

Yeah, Nikki is pretty hot.

Acrylic lenses. The printed eyes face out from the inside of the lenses. It's not the most realistic look, but it's accurate to the original costume eyes. I was thinking of just painting the eyes on.

Here's some pics of parts, eyes, and a finished head I found on the net.

Thanks. I hope it looks as good or better than the second to last pic above. That one came with the kit, probably finished by an M1 artist.

Neat.

I want to see your Indy there.

Search backwards through this thread. He's in here with several others.

Can't wait to see Godzilla finished :rock

I'll be sure to post pics.

I'd respect using the movie-accurate eyes, but yeah, I'm sure you could do waaaaay better. This is going to be a beast!

Thanks. Unfortunately, the sculpted eyes have a bit of unrefined texture to them, but if I can get them smooth enough, I'll paint them first and see if I like it better.
