I don't know anything about G.I. Joe but I know that Zartan looks really fkn cool! I am tempted to pick one up just because he looks so awesome. Great work!

How could you not collect the line after painting such awesome figures? I originally was only going to pick up favorite characters when the line started, but they just keep getting better and better and I can't help but get them all!

That partly answers the question. I didn't care when the line started because I was never into military figures, so they weren't as interesting to me.

I used to collect the old Hasbor 5" figures in grade school and jr. high along with Star Wars. I never stopped being a fan of Star Wars, but forgot about Joes when the old cartoon left the air.

Fast forward to Sideshow. Despite swearing I'd never collect Star Wars again either, the figures were just too good. When the Joe line came up, I just saw military figures based on an old childhood interest. But now that guys like Zartan are coming out with this kind of imagination and quality, and I have now been a part of making the line happen, I am more interested, but not enough to be a completist with the line. The more realistic military characters still don't interest me, but crazy ass ones like Zartan and at least one other I've worked on (another childhood favorite) do interest me enough to own. I will own some Joes, but only the couple that always stick out in my mind.

I never liked Destro myself. I couldn't accept, even as a child, that a guy with a metal face could have facial expressions. I had the same problem with TransFormers, but they were from another planet, so what did I know.

@Butt: Geez, I'm dying to see production Waxer and Boil. In a couple weeks, maybe even next week at SDCC. They'll be the first of my work to be released. Immediately followed by Jason PF. Just got the notice that billing is on the 29th of this month. Hell yeah!

I don't collect G.I. Joe, and Sideshow owns the heads I painted, so unless somebody commissions repaints of the Dusty figure, I probably won't be doing any.
