I bought this on ebay last week I really got a good price in my opinion

I really love the sculpt This is the best Silver Surfer Statue out.
it comes with 3 heads and 3 arms.
The paint is decent I perfer that chrome silver look. I may repaint it
one day but for now Im just happy with sitting it on my shelf.

This is a massive piece the statue 1/4 scale stands nearly 23 inches tall.

If you like the Silver Surfer this is a must buy.

Re: Silver Surfer Comiquette aquired

Great piece, got it when it first came out and alot of others didn't like it because of the silly cosmic trails and unsightly seams :lol:lol:lol. oh well I think it was a homerun and congrats.:clap

Re: Silver Surfer Comiquette aquired

Congrats painter! I have the EX myself. It is a better piece than it gets credit for. However, I must say I like both the museum and action Surfer by Bowen more than the SSC Surfer. For me, those are the best Surfer statues made.

I hope you do a custom paint job on your Surfer. I have yet to see anyone customize the SSC Surfer. I think it would look great. Especially in your very capable hands

Actually the cosmic trail arms are suppose to go with the angry face of SS. The sad goes with the 2 open hands & the last head goes with the fisted & open arm. They actually look better of the potrait heads are with those arms.

I got a good deal on mine. $240 shipped from MidTownComics to Canada :)

Seams aren't that bad, i love it although one of the cosmic trail arms was knocked loose by mistake, fell and broke :horror i glued it and it's passable, but still :monkey2

Re: Silver Surfer Comiquette aquired

It took me a while to think so, but this is a decent piece. Hopefully one day I can get it.

Surfer, like any comic character, has a lot of interpretations. I prefer him slightly sleeker with the big alien eyes like he was originally drawn as opposed to the chiseled body builder with smaller, human eyes. I know he's a humanoid alien, but I like aliens to look alien.

...he's so dramatic...

Re: Silver Surfer Comiquette aquired

congrats, definitely a tremendous piece. Was going to get it as well, but after seeing it in person it literally scared me away because how big it is. There is no way this can fit in the living room, unless i put it on the floor or something.

Oh no I'm not supporting the complaints, just saying what others were complaining about. I personally found nothing wrong with this piece.

Re: Silver Surfer Comiquette aquired

I never really took much notice of this piece, but looking at those pictures is making me want one for myself.

Re: Silver Surfer Comiquette aquired

I really never realized this piece was an under rated piece. I will admit
The paint work is not the best but thats an easy fix.

But I thought the sculpt was one of the best.

Re: Silver Surfer Comiquette aquired

I don't know about sculpt being one of the best? The torso abdominal area is too short and his neck is too thick. It's not anatomically correct.

Well Im not a sculptor I cant really see it till it was pointed out to me he has his back kind of arched
so naturaly this makes the torso shorter but I do see the points your making
about the sculpt

Im never to critical of sculpts Im a painter so its all about the paint job for me
if I hate it I will repaint it

But i really like this piece I forgot about the Bowen surfer holding the board this is
my favorite surfer of all time

Well I've studied and drawn the human body. It needs to be about another 1/4" to 1/2" longer. His neck is way too thick. Its almost as big as his head. JMHO that's all. :peace

Re: Silver Surfer Comiquette aquired

I've got a couple 1/4 scale customs of him as well as the SS version, but the bowen chrome is king in my books.

Re: Silver Surfer Comiquette aquired

Must agree!!!

This one here will always be BOSS in my book....

PERFECT! No one does the Surfer as well as Randy does. Even the action Surfer by BD looks incredible. However, the chrome museum is still tops in my book.

The only real issue I have with the comiquette is the head sculpts. I thought all of them were off. I noticed this was a common theme for me with many of Tony Cipriano's sculpts. I find myself not liking many of the head sculpts on his pieces. I must say though, he did nail all of the Gambit PF.
