Damn, I'm on the fence with this piece. I have the EX on order but those 3 change of heads are killing me. I hate the faces on all 3! That is my biggest complaint with Tony C's sculpts...HORRIBLE faces on his statues. Namor, Abomination, and now Surfer. Abomination looks like a Gremlin on roids! Namor is just plain fugly. The Surfers face is just off. It bothers me so much because when you look at the Bowen Surfer's they look perfect. Randy just nailed this character.

The only reason I may keep this piece is because I will be picking up the Thanos comiquette when SS releases it. But, I feel like I'm fighting cancelling this piece. I just don't know what I'm going to do yet.

I feel the same way about Tony's facial sculpts. I did not like head sculpt on Mary Jane. The face sculpts were the reason I passed on this . It sucks because there won't any more SS comiquettes maybe a Silver Savage, but I don't want that.

Why buy a piece you don't like just so you can display it with another piece you're not even sure you will like or not? The Thanos might not even be to your liking too. And, should the Thanos turn out to look amazing, it'll look great regardless of whether the Surfer is displayed next to it or not.

Life is too short and money is too hard to come buy.
Just buy what you really want to have.

Why is the shipping on this statue $113 to ship to Australia when the Punisher Comiquette cost $45 and the Aliens Warrior Maquette cost $25? :slap

Yeah was wondering the same thing, sounds like it's gonna be pretty big.

I love this piece. It stays.

Whether or not I Flex Pay it still remains to be seen. I'm trying to figure out if I do Flex Pay it, and decide just to pay it all off at once "down the road", can I end the Flex Pay early???? (If that makes sense.) I don't feel like waiting an addition 2 + months for this one.

I believe you can. You just would have to call them and pay for it but I think you can only do so when the item has already started to ship. They dont take full payment until then.

Thanks for the info. Good to know. If need be, I'd rather Flex Pay, than lose this one.

I am a big fan of the Surfer. I own the Bowen museum painted, chrome, and action surfer. This will be it for a SS Surfer comiquette. I will NOT buy a PF with silver cloth speedo's. SS has never made 2 comiquettes of the same character in the same costume. So, this is it as far as adding a SS Surfer to my collection.


All this, added with the fact that I dig everything else about this sculpt but the faces, is why I'm torn about this piece. If I hated everything about this piece I wouldn't have ordered it to begin with.

i don't think we have to worry about a PF version of SS, that would just look silly. jsut like a PF ironman, i mean what would they do in clothe??

I was always confused by the CIM comiquette. I mean, its 1/4 and has fabric in it, but it isn't considered a PF?

I think it's because the flag isn't technically part of the main sculpt, thus exempting it from the "PF" category. The IM itself is all polystone and no cloth. I see your point though. That's my best guess.

My Creature from the Black Lagoon statue had no cloth at all yet it's a PF.
