....for those with battery problems...i've had issues myself. The batteries my sim came with still work, although are getting weak. I tried to replace the battery box with several new sets of batteries, only for it not to work. When I replace the 'stock' batteries back...works fine. It must be tab issue with certain brand of battery (?) Eitherway...I am sure there is an easy fix. I dont have an adapter...what kind am I looking for:confused:...sure I can pick one up at radio shack or something, just need to know what I am looking for.

they don't at least tell you what type of adapter? there are many different ones and i imagine the wrong one can permanently damage the light up feature. IT'S A FIASCO!!!! :emperor

could the ones being sent out this early be a hodge podge of different sims to make complete ones? my clue for this way of thinking was a dusty base. :google

My replacement certainly looks it. Recycled box and parts...

lol...do u own a sim or are you getting one? just curious.

anyway...im sure its some standard adapter u plug a boombox into...or somthing like it. I dont recall any info for the adapter...and not gonna drag the box out. :monkey1

unfortunately my attempts to acquire a sim have been severely impeded by something called...A FIASCO!!!

it seems the price continues to rise because what once was a 1200es, has been depleted tremendously because of paint damage, electrical problems and now the good possibility that the damaged second wave will not be replaced a second time to the original owner. the lucky ones that have a perfect sim are making a killing.

also, a word of advice. adapters have a specific megahertz and wattage output rating. hook your sim to one that throws too much, and you'll fry the inner electrical components. too little and damage can also occur. for the amount of problems with sim, another will now include no adapter and no insert to at least tell you the proper one to purchase separately.

i'd seriously call sideshow first before you experiment, unless you don't care about the light up.

make no mistake...IT'S A FIASCO 2.

You need to make sure to match the current (A) and voltage ratings. It probably specs it on the box. I wouldn't throw any adapter in to try it out. You put one that delivers too much current and you will melt the internal wires. For just a few LED's, i'm assuming the current rating is fairly small, in the milli-amps. And need to see if this is a 5V or 12V adapter.

It seems to be that tylerd is having way too much fun with this whole "fiasco" thing.

i am over the disappointment of not getting a sim of my own. but this thread is far from fun. i do feel for those just trying to get a working and non-damaged sim. these patient collectors deserve one. :(

i did order the 1:1 bust which i feel is the best im collectible out there. that should ease my pain of not getting a sim.

But you got a SIM though. Josh ordered one for you. Selling yours is not the same as not ever getting one. IT's A FIASCO! :rotfl:rotfl:lol

sold it to another member before all the paint scuff problems. figured i could pick one up for a bit more. didn't think it would go up in value like the first so quickly, but of course it did even with the scuff problem. now it looks like this one will be on hold until the guy can confirm the lights work. :slap anyway, the 1:1 bust owns sim so i'm not too heartbroken, especially with the problems sim has. kind of feel like i dodged a bullet.

my plan was to pick one up on the secondary market at a fairly reasonable price. with an es of 1200, that shouldn't have been a big problem. but what now is the actual es of mint and working sims? price is going up up up because of this FIASCO so i'm outside looking in. some may consider me lucky for selling the one josh got for me and not having to deal with the damage, return and now problematic light up. maybe i am. but i still haven't seen one in hand so it is like not getting one to begin with. still, the 1:1 is a better im anyway. :D

You sold it to make a profit after Josh was kind enough to help you out. You thought it would all be easy sneezy....Now you can't get one. It's a FIASCO!!:rotfl:rotfl

thanks josh for helping. my finances were stressed so i figured i could pick up another one. i figured wrong. now the price is getting way out of reach. :( but i did order a 1:1 with an open es, and i really like that one better. so i guess it worked out for the best. hope this didn't cause any headaches for you for doing a nice thing.
