Well looks like the CW did it. They killed Superman

Yep Friday timeslot, the show's unofficially dead. Looks like I'll never watch it live again, only on DVR. I kinda like the Smallville-Supernatural double-pump on Thursdays. Alas, it couldn't be forever.

What is worse is that the early buzz on "The Vampire Diaries" which is a high school love triangle where a girl is loved by vampire brothers is that its horrible and obviously a weak attempt to try and latch onto the Twilight fans. So that show in its proper timeslot won't be around too long anyway.

Season 8 was supposed to be the last and they're talking the same way with Season 9 now. It would be the last despite the timeslot.

It has to end either way. Tom Welling is starting to get a little long in the tooth to be playing a young, pre-Superman Clark Kent.

Zod has also been casted.

English actor Callum Blue (Alex on “Secret Diary of A Call Girl”) will play iconic Krypton criminal mastermind Zod on the ninth season of “Smallville.”

Blue may be best known to American audiences for playing the reaper Mason on 29 episodes of Showtime’s “Dead Like Me.”

They set up Zod in Season 8, although I assumed he'd be played by the same guy who did Doomsday (but I guess they nipped that in the bud in the finale). Zod/Lex vs. Clark were some of my favorite episodes previously, but that was with Rosenbaum. I see Callum Blue as a much more laid back Zod.

Whoo hoo! Looking at the Comic-Con schedule, Sunday is the 'Smallville' panel. Erica Durance, Cassidy Freeman, and Allison Mack will be there!!!! :banana:banana

Oh, and Justin Hartley and some other guy.:cool:

Get in line at least 2 hours early - In 6 years of attending SDCC and trying every time, I've NEVER gotten into a Smallville panel.

I didn't even bother last years, the line was around ballroom 20 TWICE. In 2004, I was in there for a couple of previous panels before it and that was the only way to get in.

Good to know, thanks Dave! It's my first time, so I don't expect to get to see everything I want. But at least I know I'll have a great time at SDCC!

Last year Smallville was the first panel on a Sunday morning - I thought it wouldn't be a problem getting in. I got there 45 mins. early and they wouldn't even let you get in line because they'd already filled up the room and had a full room still in line.
