Congrats. Bowen statues are awesome but yeah, underwhelming next to PF scale Sideshow pieces. As for the Bowen bashing, hey even SS has instances of bombs, hollow pieces, overpricing, peeling paint issues etc everyone makes mistakes. But the name of the forum is Sideshow Freaks not Bowen Freaks!

firstly, alot of bowen pieces are very well done, they do become stale though with the same poses used over and over again. in saying that though i don't think i'd EVER buy a bowen piece direct (even though i can't since i'm in canada) since pretty much 99% of his pieces end up 25-50% less than retail on ebay 6 months to a year later

I have 9 myself, they look good mixed up among your collection.
I don't see myself getting a whole lot more in the near future due to the recent price hikes...secondary market is best...really don't bother pre-ordering anymore.

I've got most of the Bowen Hulks and i think they are great! they make some really nice stuff but the only thing i don't like is using the same pose over and over. I'm going to buy the new Thor & Taskmaster.

Bowen got me started with this expensive hobby. The 1st full size Venom statue.

Once again, it doesn't matter what other people think as long as you're happy. In the end of the day what matters is YOUR happiness regarding with YOUR collection.

I personally prefer SS pieces & I like Venom. If a different company decides to make a Venom piece & it is to my liking, it doesn't matter if Walmart made it. I'll most likely get it.

My first statue is a koto wolverine, I love it so much because the base can be lighted up. (Before buying SS marvel line, all of my statues have the lighted up function.) To be realistic about koto, the price is reasonable, the wolverine is only $145 us. If I am paying $300 for a statue I will be getting a SS. So it is not say bowen is worst than koto, it is just if I have $150, I cannot buy a bowen, when I have $300 I will not buy a bowen.

Bowen Designs statues are great. I myself am not a huge fan of the Stealth Iron Man, but Bowen products as a whole are excellent representations of the Characters in the Marvel Universe.

Some collectors hate on Bowen because are too caught up with scale and what others think is "elite".

Personally, my first ever purchase 10 years ago was the bowen spiderman bust, I usually get what catches my eye and what I feel is the best representation. I was going to get the new Colossus SS but seeing it in the flesh his head looks tiny in comparison to his body, legs and feet. So I'm spending my money on a bowen Hulk instead I think oooppps. Love SS the most tho, honest LOL
