Thunderball, edition of 5500, still hasnt sold out, and the price drop on this one has been an avalanche. If we go by the recent trend of sales affecting production, you Bond fans had better buy up, or your want will remain so.

Hey I bought 2 Exclusive Thunderballs. I've done my part! :D
I think with Casino Royale coming in November (Yeah!) interest will start to surge. I've noticed that it tends to dies down quite a lot between films.
Plus a bunch of people will buy a Daniel Craig figure (if only to burn in effigy). :naughty

There is much want for a Bond with jet pack I see. Looking back at the first Connery Bond, with an edition size of what, 15000. :horror which eventually sold out. Since then Sideshows policy might have changed. Recently we have had several fears stemming form the PotA being discontinued. A fear which spread over to the Buffy line at one point. Thunderball, edition of 5500, still hasnt sold out, and the price drop on this one has been an avalanche. If we go by the recent trend of sales affecting production, you Bond fans had better buy up, or your want will remain so.

If they did a LE 2-3000 Auric Goldfinger like Q I GUARANTEE it would sell out!

As for Thunderball, good idea , poor execution. The Connery headsculpt wasn't nearly as good as the Dr No or Goldfinger Connery (which I think is the absolute best) and the price point was much higher @ $65, that's 35% higher.

A classic Connery in gray suit with the Goldfinger sculpt would do fine as it is representative of Connery as we know him, also was true with tux of course.

And the jet pack with a removeable helmet is an iconic image and captures the sixties very well...

At the very least a Gert Frobe Goldfinger is an absolute necessity to complete that Connery line

Keep hammering away guys, I want one too. :D Of course it will be just as expensive as Thunderball, but it will be worth it. I wonder how the added production costs of the Thunderball figure, and the probable slimmer profit margin, if a profit was made on this figure, has affected Sideshows desire to give us the rocket pack.

Ok now I officially envy you. :D
Post pics!

Not sure I have any. Digital anyway. I made him way back in 2000 before I had a digital camera. I may have one in a group shot. I'll look and see. If I can find one, I'll post it. Remember though, its a custom from 2000, so its no where near SS quality. The clothes work ok though. Comes with army outfit, overcoat, scarf and golden gun.

Can always do a carded rocket pack accessory, but I would definitely pay 65 for if the sculpt was ON. Actually the rocket pack would cost less to produce b/c it isn't as elaborate or large as the dive pack. I would also recommend using the already amazing sculpted Connery Goldfinger, so that could also reduce costs as they could already have that ready to go I suspect.

What is the other thread?

No Luke email yet, still in the Dark but it is still light, I've never received a shipping notice from SS before 6pm for some reason, maybe b/c I use my yahoo email address for all things SS and it takes longer, then again maybe not b/c I requested SS ship both Lukes and a Darla blue dress together...

In any event , CONGRATS!!!

Thanks.

Your notice will be from FedEx, not SS.

Check out the Kitty's link in the "Look what 007 fans are missing" thread -- not the first link, the second link below. Its a custom rocket pack Connery on eBay right now.

That jet pack is excellent, thanks Wor-Gar!

Now, will SS please do Connery with gray suit or at least release a carded suit or jet pack accessory for us?

Another Connery I want is the white tux with the red carnation. That and the grey suit pop up most in the little pictures in my head. :google

Just a note:

In the opening scene of "GOLDFINGER", after Connery removes the duck decoy from his head, surfaces from the water in wetsuit and backpack and sets the plastique detonator timer...

we see him remove the wetsuit and he appears in White Tux Jacket and Black Pants... and, of course, the red carnation. I don't believe we ever see him in that white tux jacket again but I may be mistaken.

Yeah, it only showed up afaik that once but I really liked it and still associate it as an iconic suit despite its one shot appearance.

And Wor-Gar's idea of it being reversible would really rock.

Which is WHY I mention it, it's cool and the kind of stuff SS likes to do (PF ANH Luke Poncho from cut scene) although SS didn't do their homework b/c Luke appeared in 2 other scenes wearing that poncho in Ep 4 ANH

Can you name them?

And I am keeping ON topic b/c that was an SDCC Exclusive so there!

Luke wears the poncho when he sells his speeder...and when he arrives at Docking Bay 94. I think he also has the poncho draped over him in the Falcon later when Leia is consoling him after Ben's death, "I can't believe he's gone".

Nailed that! :clap :clap :clap

And you did me one better, I thought threre were only 2 scenes so you have earned a total of three congratulatory applauses!!!

I forgot about the speeder scene. The first scene I remembered is when he wore it to avoid detection when he first boarded the MF and delivered this line. "That piece of junk?"

And yes, after the Death Star escape, Leia draped it over him in one of her first gestures of affection towards Luke. She also kissed Luke on the smacker before they swung across/between the cavernous DS doorways

Leia kisses Luke on the cheek ("for luck") before swinging across the Death Star chasm and not on "the smacker". She also kissses him on the cheek on the fourth moon of Yavin before he mounts his X-Wing.

I don't think she kisses him on the lips until "Empire" on Hoth to make Han jealous. And I believe that is the only time that they kiss on the lips.

And I think it's only cheek action for Luke when he tells her that they are brother and sister in Jedi.

Well, I should HOPE so! :horror :horror :horror
