Alot of people dont like the sculpt and and the fact he has blonde hair etc but a quick repaint can fix all of that. See the below pics courtesy of viper12383 and Devil_666.

Anyway loads of people still went and bought sucky-for-likeness figs such as Drake, Hudson, Vasquez, Ripley and even Kane etc so I dont see why Billy should be any different - he's a cool fig methinks! I think the success of this fig may determine the future production of the rest of the team. I'm guessing they'll be at least a "wave 2" with 3 more characters.

I would buy it only if I had some decent painting skills which I don't... so it is a pass from me.

Even if the paint apps were dead-on, I still wouldn't have bought Billy. He's just not an important enough character to justify dropping $150 on for a person like me who's just a small time 1:6 scale figure collector. My collection was going to be limited to just Iron Man, The Dark Knight, Predator 2, and the original Predator when it inevitably came to be. So I'm already making an exception and adding Dutch to my collection; he'll be my one and only plain ol' human character, but I think it'll be cool being able to pose the Predator with an opponent.

What I don't get is... the ALIENS Marines only cost $85.
Why are these almost double? What changed? The Colonial Marines were far more intricate.

I'm considering it. I would if everything was perfect.
Thing is the payment for the figure plus shipping , payment for the head to be repainted and shipping it out and back to me. Its working out quite alot really.
Its cost me an absolute bomb to sort out my marines and I don't know if I can afford to do it again. I'm a bigger aliens fan than predator but to have both complete sets of the marines and predator 1 characters is very tempting.
I am getting Dutch and predator no doubt but the rest is still a question I can't yet answer.

I think with now there better paint apps , better quality bodys and just basically improved overall figures they can afford to add a little extra on.
And it may sound a little cocky of them but I think they know how awesome they are. :lol
Although they shouldn't and hopefully wont they could be charging double and probably still getting alot of people buying there figures. :google

For me it all depends on if they tell us they are releasing the rest of the crew or at least 2 more. IF they do i'm buying.

I was wondering the same and thought for Dutch at least it probably had something to do with the new muscle-body and the likness license - looks like HT want to get some money back on it. But for Billy I dunno, they probably thought they better up the price on him too just so he doesnt look so "unspecial".

I would see Billy as the second most important character after Dutch I think.
Or maybe third. Dutch seemed to have a great friendship with Billy and knew he was quite wise. They spoke without the rest of the team and looked like they fully trusted each other. To have them both on a shelf seems right to me.

I think I'd rather buy the Billy head and accessories loose off EBAY, and put it on a regular muscle-body. Should be cheaper than buying the complete figure.

Nah, just the Pred and Dutch for me. Billy wouldnt be bad looking if he had a repaint but thats not enough to justify the $150 price tag.

I'll be getting Billy and most likely attempt a repaint of the hair. That would be rather easy to re-do. The face paint doesn't bother me so much as the blonde paint work does. Then again, I may also consider buying a parted out head to do a full head repaint at some point.

If HT does release Dillon, Baine, and Mac later on, then I think it is also worth having Billy as well, and I would not want to miss out on Billy when it is released for that reason. However, I think that if the other characters are not made, then at least 1/6 Dutch has one of his guys along side on display in the collection.
