That's the one. Loved that dead stormtrooper :lol I've still got my micromachines in the attic, probably all scratched, discoloured and missing parts. I think I had most of the sets they made but in the pre-online ordering days I missed some of them that I never found in stores.

Yeah, they started out as landscape playsets...

I had these first, so I may have fewer "heads" then I thought. The masks that opened up came after I think.

I don't think I have them all but I recognize most below...

I loved these simple ones...

Hmm, there's actually more of them that I never got than I realized. And yeah that 'landscape' Echo base is probably yellow by now. :( Beware the yellow snow....

Star Wars Micro machines were the absolute best...loved the Star Trek ships too

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

I didn't collect the Star Trek ones - later wished I had as I became a Star Trek fan.

Didn't galoob make one set that included a spaceship from every popular sci-fi at the time? I remember some pack that had the Enterprise and a Star Wars ship (can't remember which) and like a ship from the movie Dune and two others.

They also had a large pack that included 10 vehicles from all the Indiana Jones movies, like the wing and the Venice speedboat. I have that somewhere too.

Found it:

I must be wrong about the other, I can't find it anywhere.

I still have the Indy set in the box since he didn't fit in with theme of the star wars sets. I got a big collection of the star wars ships from toys r us when I worked there that had an Exclusive executorStar_Wars_Micro_Machines_Master_Collectors_Edition_19_ships.JPG

I think the LEGO fascination is a bit of the attraction to models and kit building, but unlike traditional plastic kits, which were way to delicate to play with, kids COULD play with the legos after being built...

And modify them....

That’s what my kids did anyway....now the oldest one, well into his teens , still love getting LEGO sets , they are a bit more expensive and detailed now....

**** LEGOS stepping on those goddamn things at night was brutal.

Galoob Action Fleet best SW vehicles ever.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Micro machines had amazing detail at the scale they were. I just remembered that they did some alien sets and predator as well as a few Batman vehicles as well. I know I picked up some of them but a lot I passed on.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Back in my day legos fell apart as soon as you lifted it up. You'd spend hours making a great "craft" and then either it would collapse under its own weight or your brother/friend would end up dropping/kicking it.

And yeah, those things hurt when you step on them. It's like little knives extend quickly.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

I remember the ducats micromachine being quite cool...

I had the star destroyer and falcon....

Along with almost all the Bespin playsets....

Those would be great collecting now as the are so small!!!

still the case- how kids "play" with these things- all the ones I've seen have witnessed dropping parts and whole sections when moved around...plastic models are much stronger overall if they don't have too many antennas or whatever to break off..

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

SPeaking of "micro", I loved the Micro collection back in the 80's. The Hoth Playset was awesome, ion cannon included. I had Bespin as well, but never got the Death Star. I was very disappointed when the line got cancelled.

Is that a Mando helmet slaped into some Samurai Armor??

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

It looks to be a decorative fixture. Last Samurai Mandalorian.
