Kinda figure this though didn’t we?
Han get screwed over by the people he trusted putting him in debt to gangsters for life...
And the gal he loves is killed and it’s his fault..
Is this not what we all expect?

Han's character ark is how he went from a cynical selfish smuggler to a friend and a hero.
Now we will be told that he only became cynical selfish smuggler because he was too naive in his youth.
That sounds like a good concept but then again "Rough One" was interesting at first too.

Your observation made me think and realize that Han never acknowledged that their worst enemy turned out to be his best friend's father! Maybe "Now don't get jumpy" when Luke says "Vader's on that ship". But that's a stretch. I mean, would it have killed them to have added something to Chewie briefing him in Jabba's cell? "Luke's father is WHO?!?!?"
