Re: Han Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

What was his description of Vader's unmaking like, if you remember?

Probably cooler than it actually was in the movie. :lol I don't remember exactly what he said but I did have some weird preconceptions based on his descriptions that were wildly different than the movie. The Sarlacc Pitt I assumed would be just a regular mouth with one row of teeth that would actually close around people who fell in. And I specifically remember him telling me that Vader "threw the Emperor into a pit where he landed on some machinery" which literally had me picturing like a 10 foot deep pit that had some computers in it that he landed on and that Luke and Vader could just look down at him lying there. Needless to say that moment played out WAY better on screen. :lol

You imagined the Emperor going out like this

I can't imagine when he told you Leia and Luke were related :lol

Something something marshmallow, Humpty Dumpty head.

I still remember the first time I saw him without the helmet, it reminded me of the Wizard of Oz curtain moment.

RO showed me that a Star Wars reboot is not out of the question. In fact, it might even be good. Cut a lot of baggage loose.

Or the franchise can die and stop more unexplained new garbage.

And multiple sources are reporting a likely move from May to December 2018. Disney probably realized that Cameron is going to miss yet another release date and isn't going to let a Christmas season go to waste.

Nah, they realize that December is the only profitable month for them. If they put a Star Wars movie out every year in spring/summer, they wouldn't make any money. Holiday loot is all they have.

Unless they're competing with Avatar 2 which doesn't seem like will be happening anytime soon.

Wow -- I almost posted a Bale gif last night as an Ep 8 star.

I think they should just jump the shark and make Robert Downey Jr Han's mentor.... and keep him as Tony Stark. What the hell.

Yeah, just the fact that these talks are even happening doesn't bode well for the saga. And to think I just called Woody Harrelson "stunt casting" when he's only in the running because they first talked to Christian Bale. :slap

Maybe they can have George Lucas start showing up in random cameos playing a different character in each movie.

Re: Han Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Star Wars started out in the exact opposite direction -- no stunt casting, only old British actors.

So, going with that, I'd stunt as far as Anthony Hopkins as the Big Bad Boss... and that's it. But when they start considering yesterday's franchise stars it really concerns me.

That said, I have a really bad idea -- Johnny Depp as Han Solo's mentor -- but I kind of like it.
