Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

They are making themselves look worse than the SJWs by being bigger whiners.

For people who pride themselves on being alpha males who will save the patriarchy they sure do whine alot don’t they.

Just like the sjw movement who brought upon their own demise with hypocrisy (Weinstein, Schneiderman etc there’s alot more) so will the alpha males suffer the same fate if they continue down this destructive path of theirs because once all opposition has been eliminated they will do what only comes natural which is be hyper critical of their own kind and turn on each other for not matching their own views of perfection.

I say good riddance to both the sjw and alpha males I can’t wait for both groups to just erase each other from existence nothing but poison from both sides.

The more they call others soy boys and cucks the more I see them as being exactly that.

I sure hope you saw what a nerve you hit before it was deleted. :lol

Yeah she’s definately out no way would any executive responsible for the FIRST STAR WARS MOVIE TO BOMB ever be allowed to stay on.

Lucas already knows.

This has got to hurt him.

Lucas Picked her ON PURPOSE To ruin the new trilogy.
He KNEW She would mess up, he already KNEW this would happen.... in fact he EXPECTED this to go like it did.
he sold Star wars for 4 billion probably knowing they would have to call him back and put out the fires that Kennedy created....
it was all 5D chess. think about it, not only did Kennedy made everyone appreciate the prequels but she became the new target of hatred for nerds and now people think fondly of Lucas.
it was all a scheme to redeem himself and to redeem the prequels.

I know people looked at me as if I had 3 heads when I was defending TLJ tooth and nail.

So called alpha males can call me soy boy 24/7 I could care less I will defend Luke, Han and Leia to my grave.

If I tolerated the god awful PT for 7 years without those characters in them I will tolerate the ST WITH those characters in them.

Yes TLJ has the slowest chase scene in history with poor military tactics, yes the casino sucked and yes ending the movie on slave kid that looked like a freaking professional model was lame as **** BUT I don’t care it still has my favorite characters in them acting their asses off.

we still do Jye, we still do lol

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

^I hope after what happened with Solo and TLJ Disney/Kathleen will see the writing on the wall and stop with what they’re pushing, so SW talks can just be about SW again. The other side will automatically disappear then. But as long as they keep trying to use SW as mouthpiece, it won’t stop.

I’m not saying SW fans will stop arguing though... that’ll never happen :lol

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Thank you for that explanation. That was pretty clear and level-headed.

It's intriguing how some things in movies can be viewed as either far left or far right and heavily politicized, when from an external observer that would just go right over our heads. :D

Yeah, it's weird huh? I sometimes experience the same thing, when I watch Anime. I prefer watching subtitled anime because it's usually more accurate, but sometimes formalities get lost in translation. In the dubbed versions, they go off script knowing a North American audience wouldn't get it. I guess I like being confused! :lol

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Oh but we'd never look at it in a political light. We'd view it as a difference in ideology, but that would be separate from politics.

Maybe it's because in my country politics isn't centered around 2 parties (we have multiple and these can change every election) and none of them really align to the left or right.

Wow - what country is this?:horror

Philippines. :)

Our politics is far from perfect, don't get me wrong. It's just so different from two-party systems like the USA goes. So elected officials are elected according to their platform (not ideology) and/or popularity.

Our current president for example won an almost landslide vote. Even when our country was mostly Catholic, he won despite bad-mouthing the church (He's foul-mouthed) because of his tough stance towards crime and corruption.

I don't even know how to classify him under your 2-party system (whether his right or left leaning).

He said he did, maybe he did? We don't know. :D Even with his political clout as mayor of one of our major southern cities, I don't think he'd have gotten away with it if it were true. :D

He's like some of my old uncles, they'd tell outlandish stories of their escapades to look macho and tough. Chances are, it's not true.

ive heard nothing but crazy stories about him,
Didnt her force a tourist to eat his own cigarette because smoking is not allowed?
wait.. didnt he shoot a bully that used to bully him in school when he was little??
wait... doesnt he allow for criminals to be killed instead of arrested? even teenage kids?
wait, doesnt he allow the killing of journalists? said that they deserved it?
isnt he like super anti LGTB?

Hahaha because you guys were nice enough to answer my questions, I'll try my best to answer these too:

ive heard nothing but crazy stories about him,
So have I... and I live here! :D

Didnt her force a tourist to eat his own cigarette because smoking is not allowed?
It's probably true (there were witnesses). It was apparently during his time as mayor of Davao. Here's the story from a reputable newspaper in our country.

wait.. didnt he shoot a bully that used to bully him in school when he was little??
It was more of a school scuffle between fraternity members, but yes it seems this may be true.

wait... doesnt he allow for criminals to be killed instead of arrested? even teenage kids?
This is false (I have my personal sources). What is true though that some children are killed during police shootouts between suspected drug dealers by accident. A lot of the so called drug killings happen in the slums where there are very high population densities in very tight areas.

wait, doesnt he allow the killing of journalists? said that they deserved it?
The context was more of corrupt journalists have it coming (source). This is a third-world country and I can give you some first-hand account (both in my family's and my business dealings) that there is some heavy corruption in the media too. Extortion and blackmail can be pretty common from the media (a distant relative of mine was a victim of blackmail by the media).

This is unfortunately cultural. I studied in an all-boys school, and any one gay would have been totally bullied, all day long. No one straight would be-friend them, so they huddled in their own groups. We were raised to see homosexuality as immoral. Times have been changing and it's only now that we've learned to embrace the LGBT community. I will admit that during my youth, I was a homophobe, but I have changed my views and learned to accept them as normal healthy individuals who are just living the life they want to live.

With that cultural aspect in mind he isn't really against LGBT. He favors the legalization of same sex marriage. He has also vowed to include members of the LGBT community in various commissions and advisory roles. That's something in a predominantly Catholic country.
