Technology will never stop getting better. I want to skip all of this 4k, 8k, 20k nonsense and go straight to holodecks.

I’m right with you on that but unfortunately won’t happen for quite a long time so poney up for that 8k tv lol.

GG *did* serve as a forerunner to Vader - but whether that was necessary is debatable.

:yuck

Vader the # 1 villain in cinematic history:

Was never the “are you an angel” kid.

Was never constructed from coughing cyborg insect tech.

At least not in my household lol

At least Rose Tico wasn’t directly tied to any of our beloved OT characters thank god now watch she be Vader lol

They also should have lightened JEJ's skin (like they did with Shaw anyway) and let him play Vader for the ROTJ unmasking. Even as a kid I found it very hard to allow that the character Luke unmasked was the same one we'd been following through three full films.

I wish grievous had JEJ’s voice. I thought that wouldve been cool to integrate that tech into the Vader suit.

I would’ve just left JEJ black in the Vader unmasking scene to really confuse the audience in 1980 :lol

:lol

Seriously though that RoboCop pic would be perfect if they lightened his face and added the scar on his scalp. Anakin would have the correct voice albeit less amplified and he'd still feel like the badass we'd known throughout the rest of the trilogy.

Can't argue the voice factor. Jones' Voice is such a huge factor in how awesome and powerful Vader is. I really wish Vader's face was never revealed to the audience. Took a lot of the mystery out of him. Imagination made him more intimidating.

Yeah. If George didn't want to use JEJ's face then they could have still used his voice and just kept the entire scene at this angle:

Irvin Kershner did an interview in SW Insider back in the 90's where he divulged that he had turned down George's offer to helm ROTJ after doing Empire. He said that after ROTJ came out he regretted passing on it because he didn't like that all of the challenges felt "too easy" for the heroes and that he never would have shown Vader's true face to the audience. Oh well.

I can accept OT/RO Vader badassery being bookended by "Yippee" and Uncle Fester but I draw the line at Hayden Christensen, lol.

Yeah I am glad I have the original trilogy done by Harmy so I don't have the changes that weren't needed to the trilogy. Would have been interesting to see Kershner's take on the material for sure.

If you watch the "Making of ROTS" doc George never even asked his designers to make a precursor to Vader. He just wanted a cool looking Droid Army General. One of the finalists was even a little baby sitting in a floating chair, lol. But then when he settled on the design that would end up being Grievous he thought that he'd go ahead and shoehorn some aspects of Vader into it to make it more derivat--uh, I mean "rhyme" or whatever.
