Re-watched Harold and Kumar's Christmas last night. It occured to me watching it they made better use of Danny Trejo than Sons did last season. I hope Romeo pays off this season. It's the only piston that's not firing.

I agree this has shades of the F&F scandle. Romeo should've been FBI. Lincoln Potter was a US Attorney, he would have had FBI or US Marshals with him. Romeo could have been a part of that group and tied together nicely.

I'll be honest.. I've never read/listened to any of those all the way through. :lol

:wave

But now you see what I mean. I think Jax was talking about taking their operation to the press which would result in a huge scandal, since the CIA is directly involved in smuggling both arms and drugs.

I would have to agree with Devil, granted the issuing of the badges is pretty strange. The reason why SAMCRO is not in prison is that the Cartel needs them to supply guns and mule drugs. Why would the CIA need guns supplied by illegal sources? I read the whole thing as good old Uncle Sam saying "we would prefer you guys winning the drug war and doing our dirty work for us, so here is a get of free jail card, but nothing else"

I think it was more of a threat to their drug trade drying up over night as no one would want to buy from known CIA informats.

Plausible deniability and to some extent, control. If SAMCRO is running the guns, they don't have to do it. And if SAMCRO is running the guns to a specific cartel, the CIA knows the who, what, when, where and how. As far as the cartel goes, they make one cartel more powerful than the rest, that one will eliminate the competition and the CIA will have a smidge of control. Again, more parallels with the real life Fast and Furious.

As for the "trade" drying up overnight, it's as easy as sending two more agents to a rival cartel and starting the process all over again. It's been happening for decades in the Middle East and Southeast Asia with the poppy fields and heroine.

True, but the problem I have with that scenario is all the other stuff Romero and Luis have done which doesn't fit with the whole "CIA Agents" idea. They organized the proposed kidnapping and murder of Jax's lady (whatever her name is!?) not to mention they've killed numerous people on the show themselves. I honestly don't see any CIA agents agreeing to do all that for a job.

To me, seems more plausible that they're real cartel members i.e. criminals who got shiny little badges from the CIA in exchange for doing dirt on the side (in other countries) for the government.

They were planning to stash her in a safehouse until it was all over, then relocate her in witness protection. Sutter crammed that into dialogue in the finale when they so lamely flashed their badges at Jax. :monkey1

*Arnie voice* "Yea, but dey wur all bed." I'm certain they could justify it as self defense. If Oakland police justify shooting prone suspects in handcuffs (I'd laugh here normally, but it's not that funny), CIA agents could justify shooting illegally armed outlaw bikers, drug dealers, etc., shooting at them.

That would make them assets though, and the CIA doesn't issue credentials to assets. If that were the case, it would be the single most stupid aspect of this show to date. I think Sutter would be smarter than that and if they were Cartel members, give them some kind of diplomatic immunity vs. official government credentials.

Y'know, the only thing that really bugs me is when Charlie Hunnam's accent sneaks in, usually with his baby voice talking to his kids, or when he says 'fam-ah-lee'. . . Americans just say 'fam-lee', but even when he shouts it, and he's angry, when most Americans talk fast, he still pronounces every syllable.

Just one of those things I can never un-hear now. :lol

His accent was noticably thick on this episode, like he had to relearn his American accent again.

I have family from TX that're trying to get rid of their drawl. It creeps out in much the same way with them over-emphasizing syllables. :lol

I've pretty much reached fanboy status with this show. No matter what, every episode will be the best one yet. :D

I'm not quite following the home invasion storyline yet. It seems obvious that Clay brought in the Nomads to do the home invasions, but could his motive be so petty as to simply weaken Jax's leadership?? Or just to hide the fact that he wanted to get the documents out of the safe?

It's funny how we're only 2 eps in and it already feels like cliffhangers that they reserve for when the season really kicks into full gear.

Enjoyed last nights episode.
Glad to see Opie back with the club

:lecture:lecture:lecture

Glad Romeo actually being CIA is cleared up now. Opie's return was classic! Also glad to see, despite being a little too "SA-ish," that Jimmy's character looks like he's going to be a gem!

Here's hoping Sutter continues to do a good job digging SoA out of the hole the finale left it in.

I thought parts of seasons 3 and 4 felt padded. The whole Ireland arc is a good example. This season is off to a solid start.

Smit's character looks promissing. It certainly looks like he's having fun playing Nero. I have to question how the Sons wouldn't know of the existance of his business. Charming doesn't seem large enough for something like that to escape SAMCRO's notice. The MC also has a controlling interest in Kara Kara which draws from the same local "talent pool".

Clay is becoming Piney. I have to think there are bigger things planned for him.

I'm so glad Gemma isn't running around obsessing about letters this season. So tedious.

Tig has become a tightly wound coil. I can't wait to see him pop.
