This blows even Hot Toys away IMO. Amazing customs like this, with the best customizers involved is the ultimate. You have the passion of the fan, without the BS of big profit companies.
Well said!

Doesn't get any better than this for Mola. I'm glad to see this happen, and can't wait to see what you 3 offer next. Reminds me of the quality of rainmans full figures and beyond!
Nice to know it going to be offered for a lower price than a Hot Toys figure

I would be prepared to pay more, but if Hot Toys prices are considered already as big profit, I was only assuming these were going to be offered for less.
Yea but that works out with Hot Toys because they make a billion of one figure (Yes I was exaggerating that number but you get the idea). So it is cheaper to produce where with this figure it is going to be a different story because they won't be making many.

Oh, I thought you were totally kidding when you said that. You were serious? A hand-made custom for LESS than a factory figure? And these artists aren't outsourcing their work to a nickle-a-day worker in China.
Even if you take the HT base price, add to that the amazing paintwork upgrade, the real hair on the headdress, real necklaces (not plastic), etc, and most-likely the extremely limited number (I'm guessing 10-20 tops) then I think you'll come to a more realistic price for the work and craftmanship.
My point of view was more that companies like Hot Toys get the name of big profit while they give us figures with great sculpts, standard paint and nice outfits for a reasonable price (don't forget they have to pay licence fees)
The hand made feel and therefore more exclusive about the Mola Ram make it more desirable.
Probably the demand will be great and therefore a very high price seems to be more honnest (just to give all collectors the chance to buy instead of the ones who can be behind their computer all day long and order when it is put online for sale)
Makes sense. Demand always sets price...and supply (in this case 'volume' like an HT figure) always brings the price down. And the smaller the run, the higher the price, as we've seen with German Indy... at least the justification is there. Still, there will always be those who don't like the price. At it's core it depends on how badly they want or treasure the character. Price will separate those who just think it's cool from those who truly love and must-have this character.
Did you guys not see the order thread in the other section? Orders are filled.
