Shawn makes some fantastic stuff, a lot of it labor intensive. He's one man, and because is product is so stellar there is a high demand for it. As much as I hate waiting for my jacket and whip, there isn't another out there I would rather put on my Indy so...

yeah... me too.. but I have never made anyone wait more than two weeks and while I am filling orders I am also working full time for a police dept, going to law school at night and managing a family with two small children at home... I admire this guy's talent, no doubt.. but there is NEVER.. I repeat NEVER an excuse to take someone's money and make them wait a year.. that is not just lousy business practice, but some of his actions border on flat out fraud... again, the guy as talent, no doubt.. and I find it a total shame that he operates the way he does because I would have gladly ordered from him if he were trustworthy.. and I am surprised the admin here let him continue to conduct business on this site in light of his consistent misleading business practices... a real shame actually.. what he needs to do to gain any semblance of reliability is STOP taking orders for unmade product.. fill his obligations first.. and from here on out make a run of say a dozen jackets, then put up an offer for a dozen jackets available for sale at a first come first served basis... that would be his only way of redeeming himself..

There is no question mfisher, dealing with you was a great experience. I applaud your conduct and your beautiful work. No doubt, I wish getting Shawn's jacket were as simple and painless.

Still haven't received my Indy jacket. Last time I heard from Shawn, was back in October when he told me mine was in the batch he was currently working on. It's now about a year since I placed my order.
I was going to order other stuff from him, but after waiting this long I just want my jacket and call it a day. :monkey2

I just want my jacket and whip too. I was told that he was caught up, and the turnaround time was 4 weeks. Once he had my money, the contact stopped and that was six months ago. I love being lied to.

First and last order with him. It's a wonder he is still operating since he needs new orders coming in to help cover the cost of making old orders. Since he won't return my emails I guess I just wait longer. From the story some of you tell, it wouldn't do any good for him to tell me where I am in the list, because he lies about shipping them as well.

Didnt he admit a few months ago he prioritises his ebay transactions over existing pre paid orders? His reason being that that was his primary source of money making... Dodgy business practice doesnt even cover it imo

whether it was prioritized or not is irrelevant at this point.. that is one of the biggest issues I see that makes me question the lack of admin response to these problems... there are some substantial legal issues with entering into multiple contracts with members of this community by agreeing to provide a product in exchange for immediate payment.. then not providing the product to paying customers.. and on top of that, selling the SAME goods elsewhere in an auction.. meanwhile he is still given a forum to accept additional orders while this kind of activity is occurring.. These are valid contracts, just because there wasn't an official signed "form" doesn't mean they aren't... this business is conducted through here and through email.. so those emails detailing " I will pay you x amount for y product " and his subsequent ascent to those terms qualifies... and these contracts are not being fulfilled in a reasonable amount of time and this selling the product to other buyers through ebay is flat out egregious conduct... and I know it sounds like I am flat out blasting the guy... but at some point there has to be a remedy to this.. it frustrates me to see fellow collectors fall victim to a swindle... back in 2002 I ordered an Indy jacket from him... I waited... and waited... and waited... and got the "I got sick" excuse... in the last week another collector advised me of an issue with this guy and the exact same, " I was sick " excuse was used to sidestep his obligations... now.. I do not know him.. could be he has some kind of serious medical condition... still though.. something about this really stinks at this point... the admin here may want to take a head count of how many members here are due orders and what kind of delay those members are experiencing.. and most importantly they need to cut off his ability to sell through this site until he makes good on those outstanding orders... he was run off of the onesixthwarriors site some time ago for the same problems... just a complete mess.... I have considered making those whips myself because they are VERY easy to construct... all they are is braided shoelace with a popper, turk's head and woven wrist loop added... and offering them at a really low price just to help out those of you waiting for them because at this point the situation is outrageous... but anyhoo...

Shawn's jackets are up on ebay at the moment, last time they were up i got one and waited a month for it to get to me. any one looking to get one i say get it from ebay

Yeah, I saw that auction.
In the description it says shipped within 10 days.
You waited a month?
Ill tell you man if I didnt receive it by 10 days Id leave some blistering feedback on the 11th day.
Thats been Shawns M.O. since way before he "reorganized" and relaunched the first time.
No doubt the guy has talent, (Ive seen it up close and personal) and major kudos on the
arm sleeves, but he train wrecks on reasonable delivery way to often.
For those of you that can hang in there through all the delays and excuses my hats off to you I couldn't and wouldn't.
Speaking of hats and by comparison Trevor Grove can crank out a fully realized 1/6th scale
detailed film accurate hat ready for casting in a weekend!
Now thats talent tempered with good time management and discipline.

I wasn't aware of this whole ebay situation...kinda grinds my gears...Well, not much I can do at this point other than wait seeing as emails, no matter the tone, are innefective.

Most people are just looking to get the one they already paid for though.

Man, decisions decisions, everybody says these are the best jackets, but I don't want to support a shady businessman.

I have about $360 invested and he is borrowing my Indy. I'm not worried...yet. ;)

Seriously though, from my communication with him, he is a stand up guy that will come through. Like with all of us, life gets in the way and things take longer than expected, but I know the quality he produces is worth the wait.

i have complained. but if you want great quality in something i guess you just have to be patient when it comes to it.
it's all good.. i just hope i don't move in the next year...

so whats the deal with this foreverannoyed character on ebay? is it shaun or not? I took the liberty to grab a few things from him before I paid for it he was very responsive but afterwards... he ignores everything.... the only thing thats keeping me away from filing a dispute is all the positive feedback he has.

It's Shawn's assistant or whatever you'd call it, he's got someone helping him schedule and sell things on eBay while Shawn does the actual work.

I paid for a full Indy kit in February. I have been patient as others have said that he takes his time, but the quality is worth the wait.

My issue, and it is a big issue is that he communicated with me instantly on a number of occasions when I first asked him if he could make me a full kit. All was fine up untill I sent the money. Since the day I sent the money I have never been able to make contact with him. My emails to him are always polite and they have a simple question that is "Can you give me an estimate of when I should expect my order of a full Indy Kit? Thank you for your time. Look forward to hearing from you".

Not once has he responded.

There is the problem.... period.... I can't believe there are still people here that will make excuses for this guy when he is all kinds of polite, great guy, friendly etc etc ( vomit) while you are negotiating a deal with him.. he is more than happy to take your money... then he disappears... despicable ... and inexcusable... the "worth the wait" excuses are pathetic... when you lie to customers it completely overshadows any claim of talent or ability.. character (or lack of ) overshadows those issues...
