Even at this point how are you sure Sovereign isn't getting new work from people who aren't initiated? The guy logs in daily if someone wants to throw their money at him I'm sure a guy like him wouldn't try to stop it.

Private sales, you're right, people might still be contacting him, can't imagine why anyone would do that without looking around at what he's into first and seeing how backed up things are, but it's possible.

I just meant the public stuff is at a holding pattern, people are just waiting at this point to get their stuff.

Again, proof that eBay is cursed. Everytime someone sells an item there is a high probability of someone in the seller's family dying.

He's still selling on ebay regularly and cutting corners like not including zippers. He lies to people, he communicates right away until he gets your money and then you never hear from him. Tells you your things done or shipped. He's an ??? hole.

Personally, I had no problem. Communication was good and he shipped my order quickly.

This was several months ago and perhaps things changed since then. :huh

89 Batman didnt take long to get from him, but I waited 10 or so months for my Myers and Ra's heads.

shut the whole custom section down. if you got customs to show off put em in a Show your Shelf thread or post it in the related forum. for looking only. no more commissioned anything. figures, paint, etc. it seems every customizer starts off small when they first arrive until they keep taking more and more commissions and getting more and more backed up. then they have a nervous breakdown and eventually a "call out" thread like this one surfaces. i've seen it happen a dozen times already.

thats exactly it. foreverannoyed was a great customer service rep until you pay him. now he's sending emails telling to masturbate to 1/6 figures and saying things like sovereign don't care about the naysayers take it or leave it.

yeah seems highly unlikely same freaking excuse he gave me but some people just can't admit failure without having to grasp an excuse. people likee sovereign, howes and the other two guys here whos backed with excuses is killing the custom comminity.

It's 50/50 though, half is the producers of the goods accepting the orders, but half of it is the demand for work too providing that allure.

I feel bad for those who lost to Howes, but at the same time, a lot of people should have had the light bulb to not start new solicitation threads for him to do projects while he still had so many that weren't even done. He was here to make money so sure offering him more chances was irresistable but it should also occur to people here with the big group things, don't ask for them either.

If everyone involved in things can work responsibly, there's no reason this can't all work, it worked before.

Part of the trouble is I notice a lot of new members that come here and seem specifically interested in only this stuff, they're not here to chat they're here to buy and acquire, and it's changed the face of things around here.

If consumers can be less demanding and makers more firm in not taking on too much, I think we could have a nice place to acquire things we'd otherwise never get our hands on.
this is true

You can't toss out the baby with the bathwater. There are plenty of talented and very reliable artists that contribute greatly to this community.

Rainman, Feng, Xeno, Barlow, along with many others have never taken more work than they can produced. Don't throw out the whole basket just because there is a few bad apples.

sure you can. i can name a couple more customizers that will be called out in a thread like this by the end of 2010. i guarantee it. how many scams is it gonna take? shut it down.

Gatack and anyone else in here, please refer to the ebay/assistant as foreverannoyed, he's not a member here and publication of his real identity is not permitted here.

Everyone pretty much know's Sovereign's name is Shawn from the various dealings here, but that's as far as referring to him will be allowed as well, no last name, no posting addresses and personal information.

okay it really doesn't matter for all we know thats just an alias of Shawn's...

Commission work has always been and will always be a roll of the dice. Everyone should know this going in, and if you don't, then you should do a little homework before laying out your hard earned money.

Could be, but we respect the right of people to control who knows personal information about themselves.

I think pre-orders for commissions shouldn't happen...
But custom offerings like the MikeTek Locke head is a great example of things done right.
Get the sculpt and casts produced, then offer it...

My experience with Sovereign Studios was frustrating...
Shawn does deliver amazing work, but his Customer Service sucks balls... and he can be pretty misleading...
