Frankenstein repaint

Liking how this Frankenstein is turning out.
Repainted it in a night and used flesh tone and blood mix and just did a few different washes on the face.
Not perfect but quite like how the original green shows through and gives the look of rotted flesh.
Might go back to him and added some more detailing to the veins and cuts.
Around the eyes I just gave him some black wash to cover up the hidious original purple drag queen look.
Also changed out his outfit he originally came with green pants and jacket
Heres the original figure in packaging

Prefer this figure to the sideshow ones as the hands have no visible joints and are overemphasised:)

Frankenstein repaint

Here a few more of franky in low light.
It really is a very good head sculpt once you repaint it.
The body is not great with very little articulation and is a bit short in the legs to look right, but luckily the boots are long enough for you to stretch out the figure into the boots and it supports the weight with a stand.
Might cut and extend the legs so it can free stand without falling over, but the feet and boots are a bit poor anyway and not that stable, so with a stand is probabley the best way to go.

Re: My 1/6 scale works in progress

Been working on my dirty harry heres a few pics of work in progress.
Made the resculpted hair worlking to the original hairline.
Only when I finnished and painted I realised his original hairline had receeded giving him a massive forehead:)
Oh well you live and learn.

Re: My 1/6 scale works in progress

Argh sculpting can be a byatch
Still working on dirty harry but still need to fix the hair, not right yet.
Side view looks wrong.

Re: My 1/6 scale works in progress

Heres another one thats been a long time coming.
Reworked the sculpt from a recast subway shining head.
Anyone guess the character?
Not finnished yet still need to sort out the teeth and lips and weather the clothing, but an all time favourite film and have wanted to finnish this figure since making this thread.
I am slow but get there in the end:)

Re: My 1/6 scale works in progress

Weathered up the clothing added some blood effect on the arm, repainted the boots and tinkered with his eyes to make them look smaller.
Still working on the other sculpt for this but had a bit of a disaster with the 1st attempt.

Re: My 1/6 scale works in progress

Nicholson from Cuckoo's Nest, nice work. Don't believe I've ever seen anyone do that character before.

Re: My 1/6 scale works in progress

And heres my pat bateman so far, not 100 percent happy with his hair yet might seal it and see how it looks. Suits not bad for the price but will change out the tie for a better one.
Axe was repainted and modded slightly to be more like the film.
Gunna make the nailgun and butcher knife next and maybe him bloody not decided, like both looks:)

Re: My 1/6 scale works in progress

Dirty Harry is quite the throwback character. Nicely outfitted.

Re: My 1/6 scale works in progress

Cheers all time favourite film and actor.
Would love to make the scorpio killer to go with him but finding a sculpt and accessories will be hard for him.
Found a red ski mask for him and thats about it:)

Re: My 1/6 scale works in progress

Here's another figure that I've wanted to complete for a long time.
A real pain in the backside.
Mostly my own fault for not being patient and trying to run before I can walk.
This is a recast sculpt from diver on ebay and it is really porus, but instead of applying a base coat or selant, I just went straight in and started painting.
Then adding other paints and washs and trying to blend paints, I ended up removing lumps of paint and making a right mess.
I should know better, but its all new to me still, as I hav'nt done much head sculpt painting, where it needs to be spot on, as every little flaw and mistake shows up.
I have now sealed this head and will carry on till I'm happy with it, but thought I'd share my thoughts and progress in case others can learn from my mistakes.
Preparation is just as important as the fun part of applying paints and if you don't then your on a hiding to nothing.
Any tips others want to share feel free as I ain't proud to accept any help offered:)

Re: My 1/6 scale works in progress

Was looking around on you tube to see if there has been a king of comedy figure made, can't see any and think it would make a great cheesy looking custom.
Anyway found an image from my vid, of my final battle tony montana and realised I had'nt added it to my thread so check it out hope you enjoy:)

That's great. I made a Jack Nicholson from Cuckoo's Nets years ago. Such a great film. Nice work.
