So what are you thoughts on:
- the timeline...I think it's 5-10 years prior to Blood and Sand
- what will be Gannicus demise: booze or cunt
- a new drinking game: you take a shot of alcohol every time someone says "Jupiter's cock"

My guess is the timeline is closer to 5 years.

I bet it is ____. I am also predicting that he will get traded to the one guy then the final battle of the prequel will be Gannicus and Crixus and we obviously know who the winner will be.

I cannot wait until we get to see Batiatus' father.

The other thing I can't wait to see played out, and they eluded to it briefly in the next on is how the relationship between Batiatus and his partner (I cannot think of his name off the top of my head but his rival in Blood and Sand) fall apart.

Yea I forgot that happening to Ashur. That should be sweet.

I enjoy Crixus going through the same thing Sparactus did although I want to know Crixus' final reasoning since he said booze and woman do not concern him. Is it really freedom? He can't want to be the best gladiator right away could he?

Eh I am not sure he will fight him or they will show him in the prequel. I could be wrong but I don't think he is necessary to bring into the show. If anything they would have showed Oenomaus fight him.

I have a similar theory. Gannicus is sold to the blonde dude, as Batiatus has really little choice in the matter. Also, Gannicus will make a move on Oenameaus's wife at some point, maybe even resulting in her death. In the end, it would be Gannicus versus Oenameaus, with Oenameaus winning and earning his place as Doctore in the ludus. That will also allow for Crixus to become Batiatus' new champion.

Meh, it's a theory.

I finally got around to watching this first episode on the PVR last night-- now I remember why I loved the first season so much. I really enjoy as well knowing where all of these (well, most of them) characters end up and therefor wondering how they're going to get there-- kinda LOST-like...

A little "Dexter" surprise was nice as well...

I thought it was funny when he was like I've done something terrible and babydoll had that look like "Uh.. you ain't the only one sugar".

Also the clichéd "shower" scene cracked me up since they had to flip it to a sponge bath.

I never watched Blood and Sand and honestly wasn't interested in it but I've been hooked on Gods. Might have to catch up on BaS now.
