Star Wars merchandise isn't in a good place right now. There was total overkill for The Force Awakens, there's still plenty of toys and collectibles to be found. The Last Jedi was hated so much that collectors aren't buying merch. There's a surplus of stuff just sitting around. Go look in Toys R Us, even with them attempting to liquidate all of their inventory, there's still plenty of TLJ toys sitting on the pegs.

I don't think Hot Toys is in any rush to push anything Star Wars out, May 4th or not. The buzz on Star Wars is probably as low as it's ever been going into a new film, given how the bad taste of TLJ is still in people's mouths, and Marvel stealing the show right now between Infinity War and Deadpool.

I'm a little disappointed that Hot Toys didn't show an ESB Lando today, but if they didn't show anything from the Solo movie at all, my guess is the probably won't until the day the movie comes out, if not after. They might wait and see what the reception to Solo is before they decide to make any product for it.

Worst case they are waiting to see how the movie goes. But they will have to have something prepared due to the lead times. Chewie and one or troopers will be definite first candidates I'd say.

I also concur, its bad timing with Marvel dominating everything right now. And yes, the recent films are probably not bringing in the new fans disney was hoping for, meanwhile they have alienated some of the older fans.

Its probably the reason Lucas decided to sell out to disney because he felt people in their 40s and 50s wouldnt be able to support the brand long term.
