Thandie Newton likes Star Wars figures so much she has them on her dress!

Yeah, at that point, i think it is fair to say HT are not seeing their Star Wars licence as a best seller. Launching the second wave of Avengers figures mere days before "Solo" release says a lot about their priorities. At least, it looks like they believe a Dr Strange will sell better that a young Han Solo or even another Chewbacca.

I think they KNOW it will sell better...

It's not really rocket science to work out for Dr Strange though.

A quick look at the secondary market eBay prices, create a modified headsculpt with different hair, reuse the rest. Minimal effort and $$$ Ca-Ching !!

So, Dr Strange is MMS 484. Deadpool is MMS 490. There are 5 more numbers in between. Will we get 5 Solo figs or will there be 5 more Marvel? Yes, I'm getting desperate for a Range Trooper and Mud Trooper... lol.

Has HT teased they had the license for this film ? We know they have Marvel and I recall teasers for IW and DP2 but I don't recall anything for Solo.

It doesn't mean we won't get figs, I am just curious

They don't need to license this movie, specifically. Once they got the Star Wars license, they were free to make anything they wanted, with approval. The license doesn't go movie by movie when it's a franchise.

They showed Deadpool the week of the movie release, why should Solo be any different? I'm not sure how not showing figures while Infinity War hype, then Deadpool hype would have benefited a film that already has a questionable box office outcome. Chewie, Lando, Han, and at least two troopers are probably your menu options in the coming months. I especially can't imagine why HT wouldn't jump on Lando given Glover's recent successes and popularity.

Yes, exactly what i think... HT change their strategy (since TFA & TLJ sales were disappointing)...

We know nothing of their methodology after all these years. I thought Threezero were working on the Matrix then HT announce the license. The first license to get me really excited in a long time. I can't wait to see Agent Smith and hope to see more at SDCC.

Personally I think the only methodology they have is "produce figures that will sell well and make them money". If that means wait and see how a movie is received by the fans/public then HT will wait.

As Guer said I don't think new Star Wars movies are a given success for toy manufacturers.

Exactly
