JC Hong announced in an interview that he's working on a new Wolverine figure that will be released next year!

Most certainly the X-Men version :rock

Ummm wasn't it was Kojun who said he wanted to do Wolverine again since he wasn't satisfied with his original sculpt. He also said they already got approval from the licensor.

Agreed. Just like they should do all those things before producing their 1,500th Batman- or Joker-related figure :monkey3 :D

I agree, but iron man should be put on hold for while too

This is amazingly arguable. I would say hands down that title still belongs to Spider-Man.

While I love wolverine, I agree with you Mike. Spiderman still has his own line of toys while all other marvel characters have to share in the 3.75" line. That not the only reason I agree but it's something that came to mind when thinking about it. Spiderman is going to be tops for a long while me thinks.

^^ if this means that a better HS for Wolverine is coming, I'm all in. Even though the 1st Wolverine was awesome ( I don't have it, just judging by the pics) there was always something a lil off about the HS.

Headsculpt was not 100% last time and it sounds like the sculptor knows that. I'm hoping he can get a 100% Hugh... that would be an insta-buy. :love

I think those two are clearly 1 and 2, and given all the tv shows, movies, toys, etc. they are probably about equal. But if you took a poll amongst fans of geekdom, I think Spidey wins in the older and very youngest groups, but Wolvie takes the 20-40 year old demographic or so and beats Spidey.

I don't know about that. Given that 20-40 demo puts the older age born in 1971. The Amazing Spider-Man show premiered in the Fall of 1977 and fully kicked off in 1978, that same older end of the demo would have been 7-8 when Spider-Man was swinging around on the small screen. Then you had a Spidey cartoon hitting in the early 80s, and of course Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends until 83, the younger end of the spectrum of that demo born in 1991 would have been young smack in the middle of the Spider-Man animated series on Fox, only to have four more cartoons hitting in their youth until 2009 with Spectacular Spider-Man. Let's not forget the Raimi films from 2002 on and you've got a solid argument that would be enamored with the wallcrawler. That's not even taking into account the slew of Spidey titles throughout the late 80s throughout the 90s to the early part of the century. Not to mention that Empire magazine's fifth-greatest comic book character is the wall-crawler himself.

Wolverine didn't really get fully used until Fox's 1992 making only cameos in stuff before it which wouldn't hit majorly on the majority of the demo even with the 2000's Singer film.

I'm not even sure if I'd say that Wolverine is number two at Marvel but definitely the 1st Mutant over all and that what you'll find is that people who like Wolverine tend to get really emersed within the character whereas people who like Spidey generally are open within many of the aspects of all Marvel characters.

Wolverine WTF :clap

Wolverine WTF? :lol huh?

Okay but then shouldn't it be FTW (for the win) not WTF (what the ____)? :lol It's not anomalous by any means, it is all personal preference although Kara and I were speaking in the general fashion. My favorite Marvel hero has always been Iron Man although with Flash Thompson's Venom has been impressive so far and I find myself reading Venom repeatedly before IM lately.

Really keeping my fingers crossed that this new Wolverine figure happens! I'll take an X-2 version with the white T and jacket that he wears at Bobby's house. Spiky hair is a must!

As far as Wolvie being more popular than Spidey, I would say yes, Spidey is the more universally popular character. But I think karamazov has a point that he appeals more to that specific 20-40 demographic. Wolverine is a more complex character than Spidey because of his anti-hero persona. Spidey is much more clearly defined as a hero which probably appeals to a younger age group. Once a kid starts growing into their teens, the rebellious nature of Wolverine becomes more attractive. Although there are still plenty who will continue to relate to Parker who is partially defined by having real-world problems.

Of course Mike is right in the sense that Spidey is definitely more broadly known in the world outside of comics, while Wolvie is mostly worshipped by comic readers.

A major glaring typo WTF!! Thanks for pointing it out, I'll fix it no one will be the wiser. :wink1:

Older characters get "stale" from time to time and another more interesting one pops up. A big example in my case is GL. I took your recommendations prior to the GL film and I find myself indulging in the older Lantern tales as the corps is quite an interesting group. I have read anything in the new 52 series but I enjoy the older stuff.

Back to the future and Anakin were mentioned by a HT artist a while back.

Take them all with a grain of Salt.

Its not the same thing Here he " I think the quality before is not good enough and it is a good timing to work on this again as Hot Toys has already confirmed with licensor on this. I am really excited and will do this with my full power!"

I am not sure if they will finally release an Xmen triliogy wolverine or have a rerelease of the orginal with and updated head sclupt similar to the new Iron man Mark 1 2.0 knowing them it will probably be a rerelease and once they will this cash cow release a triliogy wolverine with the same head sclupt

knowing them it will probably be a rerelease and once they will this cash cow release a triliogy wolverine with the same head sclupt

They won't do the same HS, Wolverine had different hair in each of the X-Men films, it obviously getting more and more tamed as the films went forwards, even the X-Suit isn't the same from any of the three movies, most notably the orange and yellow with regards to the piping coloring. You'll see HT sculpt each one of those heads and charge us more every release without fail.
